Are we any good?

As of right now, I think it's safe to say we are a completely average football team. We're not "bad" and we're not "good", we're simply average.

Obviously getting blown out sucks, but I think part of it is that we were blown out in consecutive games (I wouldn't consider Clemson a blowout). If the FSU and UNC games were separated in different parts of the season, I don't think it would be as psychologically frustrating.

In 2001 for instance (a year we finished #14) we had our doors blown off by both Tennessee and Miami, but it wasn't boom-boom right after the other so it wasn't as hard. It's still possible we could have a season sort of like that. Obviously, that immediately goes out the window if we don't show up on Thursday night.

The last 5 teams all play with heart. IMO, I think they are all decent teams. Out of the Oranges 4 wins, I'm finding it hard to give them many quality points.

and again 8-4 would be the 2nd best season at Syracuse in 22 years. probably would be viewed a bit more than just a "successful season" Call me crazy.

I think we could win or lose any game left on the schedule regardless of how much people want to play the Kevin Bacon game. There's no lay ups no games we can't find a way to win either.

It’s funny, I think they’re good but way too greasy most of the time for me. There are IMO way better burgers here.

He won 5 in a row in 2018 against a harder lineup. Yes, this team isn't as good as 2018 but when else have we had a 5 game stretch that was this weak? He also won 3 in a row last year with two of those games vastly superior to anything we have left.

…And this is why my answer to “are we any good” is “I don’t care”.

I’d like to see us string 2-3 consecutive bowl seasons together with the same coach, since we haven’t done that in a generation. Then maybe kids that wouldn’t give Syracuse a second look right now would entertain an offer. Being good isn’t a requirement to making bowls - but making bowls consistently will make it easier to become good.

I don't care if we are 'any good' either. 8-4 or 9-3 is a resounding damn success for this program. I am skeptical we even get to 7, but 8 or 9 wins, yes please.

San Diego has a solid food scene for everyday people.

There are better cities for high end food. But for stuff like burgers/burritos/chicken sandwiches/etc. San Diego is crawling with great stuff.
