Arizona St fires Herm Edwards / hires Kenny Dillingham

After last weekend, they might have been right.

and yesterday as well. Hackett wasn't ready when the job was available at Syracuse. and like you said, 10 years later he looks a little over his head as the HC at Denver

nice money grab for Herm. I actually thought before all the allegations he was doing a pretty good job there, but been downhill after that. His QB is also starting for LSU this year as well

GT will be looking for another head coach soon as well.

That is a pretty crappy list. Gotta think Bronco is a candidate. Maybe Harsin. Entz? Otherwise a current P5 OC or DC.
Yeah, I think any serious program has to be looking at Bronco.

His name might make a long list of potential candidates, but with no HC experience (other than one year at a small HS in Cali) I would be shocked if he makes anyone’s short list for a HC opening at a P5 school.

Our biggest threat to lose Coach White will be poachers from other P5 programs. SU needs to step up and make him a well paid P5 DC.

The program is going on the right direction. SU needs to do whatever they can to keep the program improving.

Pay the man and his assistants.
Agreed. I just don't think schools or teams usually target members of failed regimes, especially in this sport. I am sure there is an exception or two out there, but when a move like this is made at this juncture of the season, they are signaling that they want to go in a new direction.
That would not include someone like our defensive coordinator.

Is it presumed anywhere other than a person in this thread?

I haven't seen anyone mention him.

He didn't make CBS's Top 10 list of candidates.,

Sean Lewis did make someone's list.

I don’t know if anybody mentioned it yet, but former SU assistants Donnie Henderson and Mike Cavanaugh are on the staff in Tempe. It’s a tough business.

Granted I'm a glass half empty kinda guy, but, I have a sinking feeling it ends up being Bronco Billy. And, Anae and Beck join him in Tempe.

Season 3 No GIF by The Office

First off - does Bronco even consider that dumpster fire of a job?
In a conference that is the definition of TBD?

Secondly - while you'd think Anae & Beck would love to reunite with their old boss, I'm pretty sure they're enjoying their time in Cuse to date, and they have those things called contracts.
ASU doesn't strike me as the $$$$ kinda program that can afford to buy out Herm, plus his entire staff, plus then hafta pay up for the new guys, plus pay their respective buyouts to get them to come along.

With Dino's fairly warm seat after last season (deservedly or not), you've gotta imagine ADJW had to put some major financial incentives into Anae & Beck's respective contracts, since there's NO WAY they go to Cuse thinking that they could be canned after the one season, without having something financially to show for it.

ASU is a great job, imo. Yes, not a B1G or SEC job, but a big state school, in a prime location. Whether the Sun Devils stay in the Pac12 or move to the Big12, they will remain a P5 program, with ample access to fertile recruiting grounds, in a warm climate. Also, pretty close to Utah. I'm hoping Mendenhall adds another year to his sabbatical, and starts looking around next year. Or, he waits until the BYU job opens up again.

This is exactly what Syracuse should be doing instead of paying the head coach $5-8 million like BIG/SEC schools, they should be paying top dollar for coordinator positions and low to mid-level for the head coach.
I agree, but how do you know that the coordinators aren't getting the bucks? I've not seen anything about their salaries.

Deion Sanders would absolutely crush it out here. ASU has everything - massive school in a big city with great weather - and a President who’s a magician at fundraising. A big flashy name would fire up a sleeping giant. Anyone who hasn’t been to Tempe recently would be shocked. It’s a transformed city.

-Bronco left BYU for the UVA dumpster fire.

-Doesn't the Phoenix area have a ton of Mormons?

-ASU is still a P5 job and it wouldn't take much for them to be a P12-2 contender.

Even if Arizona State doesn’t hire Bronco, my worry is that they bring in Sitake from BYU, then the BYU job is vacant.

I think Bronco is going to wait for the Ga Tech opening
