Watching Art dominate Notre Dame to lead a 2-8 Syracuse team to victory is etched in my memory. 39 is just way too young.

As others have said- really, really lousy week.

Arthur Jones and Mike Williams both gone before 40. How incredibly sad.

I am heartbroken by Art’s passing. He always appeared to be a kind and caring person. He and Chan had given back to the program.

I feel in love with Cuse football at the worst possible time, the GROB era, and Art’s performance at ND was a big part of that.

His mother passed away from diabetes related illness at 55.

According to this sadly his defibrillator went off and an ambulance was called.

Ambulance, police responded to his Pompey home after alert went out from the defibrillator. He was pronounced dead at his home. He was 39.

This has been the worst week imaginable for su sports, way too young. Terrific player and great guy rip.

Met him a few years ago down in Florida for a conference. Obviously strikes up a convo about Syracuse and his brothers. Great guy. Didn’t know me at all but told him about my Cuse and Rochester connections and we talked for 20 minutes m. Awesome dude. Sad
