Ashton Broyld playing QB, RB, AND WR?

In other words he's taking on the role that Ant had in 2010.

They want to get him on the field, but he isn't ready to be an everydown QB. Get the kid his touches.

I'll go back to this again. UF used Tebow as a redzone weapon his freshmen year.

broyld ain't tebow but nassib ain't leak either. florida had a lot more to lose by giving an inexperienced guy more of a role. it's a useful comparison but they can give broyld more rope with less to lose.

if we're going to have another year of 15 play drives, some versatility on 3rd and short will help a lot.

Please, Ashton, just stay out of trouble.

Love the part about players even questioning why the practices are closed to the public... so much for building chemistry

This year we have a few playmakers. Sales Ashton Lemon PTG Smith and yes Hunt. Im sure that Doug wants the ball in their hands as much as possible

I like it. Find a way to get your best players the ball.

Broyld might not be ready to take over the reins at QB at this stage of his developmental curve, but I'd love to see him worked in. Being part of the weekly game plan will help him prepare to take over in 2013.

Welcome to the Ashton Broyld Show

Holy **** maybe our offense won't be boring as **** to watch most of the time anymore.

If we're looking for an example of how this might work, Russell Sheppard at LSU might be a useful comparison. Of course, he was the #1 rated athlete in his recruting class and the integration has been somewhat frustrating/spotty (he's now netted out into a #2 wideout after a couple years of tinkering). Based on that, my expectations are fairly tempered...but it certainly can't hurt!

call me crazy, but put him at LB and call it a day.

At RB he makes the defense concerned about the sweep that turns into a pass down field. At WR he is also a dual threat, and if he has good hands he is possibly a good bet to pick up yards after the catch. At QB the defense will need to be able to defend the option. I still like the idea of him at TE, but that may be too much to ask for any young player.

Well, I guess that might explain the black out.

Getting play makers on the field is a good idea.
couple of HomeRuns for Marrone there.

Oh Lord

yes, given how bad the offense has been for the past decade, I say take a potential game-breaking offensive threat and move him over to defense before he ever even gets a chance to touch the ball every time. I mean, multidimensional offensive weapons show up at SU every single year, but a linebacker project - where you gonna find one of those? Oh Lord

Didn't Ryan Tannehill start off as a WR? I know it's a drastic comparison, but we saw how you can go from a WR to a QB in major college football.

we have needs in a lot of places, thats for sure. but wr, qb, and to a lesser extent rb are not them this year.

lb is a glaring weakness in terms of talent, depth, and athleticism - and size.

This. And in reality, the kid needs a set position so he can learn it. If they really thought he was going to be a QB...he wouldn't be playing WR and RB. You don't waste a year of QB development to get a play maker on the field.
