Slooooow day at work today. Using CBS as I guide, I quickly calculated the average number of seeds 1-4 that make the final 4.

On average (dating back to 1979):
1.6 #1 seeds make the final four
.88 #2 seeds make the final four
.48 #3 seeds make the final four
.41 # 4 seeds make the final four

No idea what any of this means, but maybe someone will find it interesting.

So, if you thought this was an indicator of the future, you'd want to fill out your bracket and probably pick 2 #1s, 1 #2, and 1 #3-4 for your Final 4. But, in reality, I doubt these stats mean very much.

To me it means if you a higher than a 4 seed you start looking at what recruits are coming in next year.;)

Another interesting note--a final four has never had 1, 2, 3, 4 as the seed lines.

Here's one, no team has ever won a national championship after not at least winning one game in their conference tournament.
