I agree. I also have to acknowledge that wildhack tenure both basketball and football records are negative since he was hired. Definitely not all his fault at all just saying what the board is probably looking at if the rumor is true.

If they don't renew Wildhack they might as well close up shop. He finally has made strides to repair all the damage from the previous 2 groups and now you start all over.
I think a lot of fans would finally have reached the point where they just check out.

I'd have an extension in waiting or better yet, I would drastically increase his bonuses for the upcoming year. I do believe that SU will finish either 10-3 or 9-4 this year and be ranked. If the season unfolds as I predict ( a win over Tenn and Clemson), then he would deserve a Dabo like contract (7-10 mil) and a 5-8 year extension.
But let's not forget that any extension of Fran must be accompanied with his coaches and supporting staff as well. His coaches would also need a bump in salary and bonuses!
I know and believe in Fran and have witnessed his impact here in many NJ schools! He has many local coaches excited and in the loop as well. The man knows how to plant seeds at the middle and high school levels to achieve a fruitful HS crop.

his kids are already in college?? I just looked up thinking 'maybe when his boys go away to school he'll retire' and then I realized his young boys were at the intro press conference 9 years ago lol. Time flies

John Wildhack has done an admirable job in a very challenging college sports landscape. Along with the many difficult situations that awaited him in-house with many of the sports programs. He also bleeds Orange.

It's hard to imagine any scenario that the Board of Trustees doesn't extend him as long as he isn't ready to retire.
