babers is weird and gives up too much

4th and 10 is really hard

I would rather try to get a stop. Try to score. Get an on sides kick and try to score again, all of which is apparently easier than converting the 4th and 10
He basically admitted we don’t have 10 yard plays. After the prior play he’s probably right. Instead of getting 5 yards let’s throw it out of bounds deep

His players are also showing highlights on Instagram like they won the game handily

He has no discipline and no control on this team.

Dino needs to walk out the door and he can take Devito and Taj with him. Sick of watching him favor those two
That’s not a Dino issue. That’s a 2021 society issue. It’s everywhere. Team sports have become all about “my super special son/daughter’s individual development” across the board. Everybody thinks they need a “brand”. Weird times.

Eh. Skipping ahead to a stupid decision when we were already in pure desperation mode isn’t really getting the story of the game right.

We were down 17-7 and probably should’ve been up 17-7. We shot ourselves in the foot/the refs screwed us too many times.

I didn't watch any of it and won't watch the replay but this isn't the first time he's given up - like he's had enough and just wants it to end. i don't remember which game it was the last two years but i remember him quitting, will have to refresh my memory

And to do it on the home opener? In the brand new refurbished Dome? He just lost a lot of those remaining 25,000 or so hardcores who were willing to risk the Delta virus to come to the game.

Such a freaking meathead. We might as well fire him now, because this season is going to be one big dumpster fire.

I just posted this in another thread. It’s the most absurd thing I’ve ever heard. Executing a different “style” punt. Should be fired for that alone
And this was after he told media how spooky it is to run out a new punter. Then he runs out a second new punter after the first one was luckily able to rise to the occasion.
This is the same HC who told us he only let Jacobian hand the ball off his first time seeing the field because that’s enough for first time out.
Then he puts a new punter out there when pinned in the back of the end zone??? It’s bizarre.
And what sort of trick punt was this guy so effective at ? What does that even mean???

And if it’s such a super style punt why are we not using it full time?

Dino basically told us we should be thankful every time we get a first down with the offense we currently have.
Mind you not an explosion play but rather just a first down.

It’s so sad.

10 yards is impossible for us! Really yard to get 10!!! Thats a damning admission

It really is baffling. Nevermind 2018...even in ‘16 and ‘17 we were able to move the ball. We had a backup at Maryland come in and be one of the leading receivers in the country. Phillips put up numbers. We’d go for it on 4th all the time.

We lacked talent but we were aggressive and coming after teams, and at least made for some entertaining games, and we pulled a couple big upsets.

I’ll take those two seasons over 2019-21, and it’s not even close.

Had a QB that could make plays. It’s the obvious difference.

It will never make sense to me how football coaches convince themselves that they have a better chance of like 6 things breaking exactly the way they need instead of just making one thing happen that they choose.

This is what I'm always talking about when I say it's way more fun when you can score, even if you lose games 56 to 49.

We all knew when that 3rd and 12 got erased and Rutgers got the rushing TD that there was a good chance the game was out of reach at 7 to 0 and that is RIDICULOUS.

Especially when “onside kick recovery” is one of the 6 variables

Dino is a totally different coach than he was from 2016-2018. Yes no Dungey and yes Tommy stinks but you still don’t quit late in a game. Shafer did that and we deservedly crucified him for it. Ditto here. Stop coaching like a little chickensh** beeotch, no matter who your QB is. Freaking Mahoney threw 100 touchdowns against Pitt, how good was he? And yes I loved him too, just to be clear. Gilbert sucks, Dino sucks. We have a good D and enough on offense to be competent.

I’m always bewildered by these decisions.

like losing by 10 is better than losing by 20? Who cares. You play to win the game.

You can still do that

They maximize the amount of time they have any chance. And they stupidly think the game is over if they fail to convert, like those thirty yards are everything

But I don't think that's what he was doing

He just quit, he is a little nutty, he hates the offense, he had enough

Eh, I've had enough too.

are you talking about the punter substitution? That to me might have been the single dumbest decision of the day. We survived it but that’s a play that could actually have cost us the game. that decision alone has sort of pushed me to the other side of the fence right now, I can’t have confidence in a coach who somehow thinks that decision was going to give us some sort of tactical advantage.
