Babers presser thread

The media guy for BGSU who I have been following says the only good coaches at BGSU are the offensive ones. So maybe we should hope he doesn't bring the D guys.

It sound like the DC, Brian Ward did well this year, but he's coaching the Bowl game...so I suspect he may be staying put.

Dino probably knows little of Bud and/or what he looks like. Bud asked him if he liked what he saw about Syracuse, (the school and City) almost implying that out City is bad. It would have been great if Dino said "I like everything I see about Syracuse except that moron who writes for the Post Standard and uses terms like "burgh" and "wizbangs".

No he hated it Bud. That's why he took the job.....

Bud Poliquin with the negative comment. Big Surprise.

Yeah, really Bud? Instead of Bud asking what do you see that we don't...he should've kept it in the first person...where then the perfect response would've been...a horses ass!

So my guess is, total turnover for anyone that is currently at Syracuse, save one or two.

Bringing as many BG guys as he can.

Sounds like Hicks is done.

not only did he say we're going to condition differently but he said we're going to 'lift' differently and nobody picked up on that. doesn't mean Hicks is gone but I think he is.

Sometimes work gets in the way, so I missed the presser. Thanks for the running commentary. Gonna be fun.

Coach Babers will be getting your priorities straight going forward!!

Babers represents a new era for Syracuse football. It needed an enema and he's going to provide it in a big way.
Not just the football program...

I feel like we just entered the modern college football paradigm.

I wish September was tomorrow. This is going to be a long offseason!!!
Stop it - I still want to enjoy the rest of the recruiting period (think it's going to be very exciting) and then see what he does in spring ball! don't go skipping all the way to September already

Seriously I can't believe we got this lucky. I mean I feel like my dog when I gave him a doggie bag filet of meat and looks at me like this is for me?

Dino Babers offense for me? I can't believe how lucky we are.
Excellent point. Now let's not forget that Coyle made this happen

BGSU's current Director of S&C is Sean Edinger:

I thought this part of his bio is interesting:
He has more than 18 years of experience in martial arts and was a United States National Karate Team Member for five years.

To Bees' point above, it seems that, based on his personal experience, that bulk is not prioritized as highly as flexibility.

Correct, the BG OL this year actually dropped weight to be more agile to run the offense as they felt their size hindered them from running things as quickly as they would have liked in 2014.

Edinger has some videos up through the BGSU Athletics YouTube page from workouts over the spring and summer if you're curious of what he preaches.

Long, lean, flexible yet strong, vs bulked up and tight.

it's essentially what Tom Brady is doing right now. He lifts zero weights and has built his body up to take hits vs be tight.

S&T at Syracuse is something that needs to be looked at.
