with Carey as 6th man (Dion like role) off the bench with Hughes, Dolezaj, Moyer and Sidibe giving you ten deep. Not sure how Buddy fits in unless shooting is an issue but someone would need to sit. Washington could red shirt next year.

Rim protector in Chukwu and 4 other starters that can create offense and take their man off the dribble. Need Brissett to work on his shooting to be a perimeter threat and assume Bazely is already there.

Looks like a powerhouse team on paper for next year!

Yes, next year has a bunch of potential if things fall into place correctly (and maybe we get lucky with some returning guys).

But, lot of season left this year.

holy jump ahead bat man. how bout we worry about this season. we are all of 2 games into the conference schedule. holy geez. millenials.

A) It's January 3rd, we're 12-3 and 1-1 in the ACC
B) Battle will not be around next year

Battle will most likely go. However he is nowhere near ready. Dude was shut down by Buffalo and St Bonaventure. Awful against Wake too.

Even without Battle, next year figures to be a ton better - which is why people are looking ahead.

We have a few nice players this year but not enough of them, especially offensively. And the ones we do have are in roles they are not suited for or ready for.

Hughes, Boeheim, Carey and Bazley can all shoot and/or score. We are going to be a lot more difficult to guard next year.

Just hope Sidibe gets back to being healthy. He is a huge piece of the puzzle.

He will be as ready as he'll ever be and his draft stock (and NBA earning potential) will likely never be higher.

Nah. He could come back and be the leader of a team that wins a national championship. He's borderline first round now. Win a national championship and improve and he could be a top 15 pick.

Battle is not coming back. I don’t understand why we do this every year. The NBA does not draft based on points scored versus Buffalo. He is 6’6” and athletic and shots the 3 around 34% with a hitch in his stroke someone will fix. He is gone. Accept it.

Even if Battle doesn’t return (I expect him to go pro), we are going to be VERY good next year—like national title contender good.

I still think Buddy will redshirt.

This. No matter who the player is, people on this board will not understand when the right time to jump is. After this season, Tyus needs to go pro regardless if he's ready or not.

Being more talented doesn’t necessarily mean a better team. It’s all on how they gel as a team, accept their roles, execute them, complement each other, and realize that the more successful the team is - the more successful they are. The best ‘teams’ are better together than their individual parts. Next year maybe we will again have the numbers to have super subs like a Josh Pace, Dion Waiters, Kris Joseph etc who pick up a team, provide an additional crucial dimension with no drop off, consistency off the bench. It’s all dependent on leadership, attitude, motivation, trust in each other including the staff and of course, execution.

What’s the report on Hughes? Is he really as good as the staff believes. Loved his high school film, but the college film on him wasn’t the greatest, and the stats even worse. Injury? Coaching? Wrong system?

Imagine if he came back and had an issue with his foot like freshman year. It would be a red flag and cost him big time. It would be reckless on his part to come back.

Looks like a loaded lineup with or without Battle. My nagging concern will be Sidibe. Definitely need a second big man to split the playing time with Chukwu and I do not see Sidibe's tendonitis issues going away. Is there room on this team for a 3rd big man? Would be nice to have a player with a little bulk to plug up the middle and grab a few rebounds. Very disheartening to see Chuckwu and Dolezaj have rebounds ripped from their hands. A loaded lineup is great next year but are too thin at center with the potential of Sidibe's injury flaring up again?
