It will be interesting to see which G-League he plays for.
The G-League teams owned by an NBA squad won’t have incentive to want this kid playing for one year to develop and then have him go pro.
That team would be developing him for another nba team.

This was our best recruit in a decade.

We have a big time problem.
Our coach needs a filter he won’t develop.

Next year is now another bubblish season.

We have no depth again.

Honestly, I'm at the point where I hope the wheels fall off the damn bus and we turn to crap, just so they HAVE to force Boeheim to retire. I am SO SICK of this crap!

You guys are sitting here and saying Boeheim had something to do with this? Are you willingly ignoring posts in this thread and articles where he praises SU and talks about what he brings to the team next year? This was something that happened during and after the game.

Great!! Then EVERYBODY will suck!! Super!

I actually think the level of play in college basketball could become better without the top talent coming, if that makes any sense. More teams like Xavier, Michigan, Villanova, etc. with players who stick around 3 or 4 years could actually produce better "teams" than trotting out a bunch of one and dones who are out for themselves.

He never wore orange so screw him. Hope he fails, it wouldn't even be surprising.
We will be fine. The program is never about 1 kid. The timing also shows he was not a team player at all or he would have done it earlier and not leave a team on the hook.
His loss, not ours.

Unreal. Kid commits to a college, signs a LOI, then backs out in late March? Super weak.

I don't wanna hear anything about how this could be good for the game, blah blah blah. Sorry, I have no desire to think "big picture," how might this impact SU in 5 years, etc. I know how it's gonna impact SU now...and it's not good.

Is there any recourse at all? Signing a LOI doesn't come with any obligations?

Man...just so unexpected. Of course something this random would happen to SU...and with our best recruit since Carmelo.

What a terrible turn of events. I'm disgusted.

Ex freaking zactly...hes in for a rude awakening

I just said JB needs a filter.

I didn’t say that one incident is why Bazley isn’t coming.

You think JB’s mouth helps us with recruiting?

Well he got a top 10 recruit for the first time in a decade who decided for reasons unknown to any of us to try the G league route. Speculating does no good.

Just prevents you from talking to or signing with another school - it's not a contract other than that

Reading some of these responses is actually humorous. Everyone is blamed without even mentioning the root cause. I am sure that there is a large number of graduates on here from the Whitman School that are zealots of capitalism, the root cause previously mentioned. I am also sure that these zealots will respond with their predicable hate to this post. But, don't blame the kid for everything he has been taught by the society he grew up in.

Everything that we were taught about capitalism is pure excrement. Capitalism was best described by two mafiosa, Tony Soprano and in "The Godfather." Tony described capitalism as doing everything possible to "maximize profits." Of course, this is at the cost to others who will suffer from the greed of the capitalist. If some one uses moral conduct in their decision making process and is sympathetic to the consequences of others, this is called socialism. This is the great moral debate facing our country and our planet. Why would anyone expect sports to be exempt? Indeed, sports are a crucible for the process.

The other quote comes from "The Godfather" and is simply put as , "It's just business." Which is another way of explaining capitalism.

Let the haters begin...

I think his 1000+ wins, 5 final fours, a national title and a long list of first round picks helps us with recruiting

The more I think about it, the more this looks to portray Boeheim in a bad light (though I happen to believe it's not his fault).

But what this kid is saying is essentially that his career will be better advanced by being taught by some anonymous D League coach for a year than it would be by learning under Boeheim.

To me, that's asinine. But kids do dumb things sometimes.

I think it just portrays the kid as not intelligent and also having been convinced by $$ promises. It also portrays Bazley as extremely selfish
