BC post game

What? I just disagree with Etan. Is that allowed? He’s had an ongoing passive aggressive campaign against Boeheim. Everyone has their complains but Etan’s not right here
So the offense shouldn’t go through Jesse. Ok., let’s have joe Jack threes up off the dribble

Jesse’s talented in the post and at times makes good passes. He’s still not progressed enough to learn when not to force a shot and he hardly uses size mismatches to his advantage. He’s a nice player but running an offense through him is a losing equation.

So could have put this in Maliqs dedicated thread but will leave it here.

This kids awareness and instincts are just off the charts. Strong yet soft hands as well.

One play in particular was the tap putback he had. The ball had a ton of momentum coming off the miss and Maliq put a volleyball like tap on it to put it back in. Not sure I've ever seen that maybe more than once or twice at any level. So difficult to make that play on the fly judging the touch needed off a bang bang play.
He had to pull his hand back and still go back. Incredible touch. Not sure I’ve ever seen that.

My post had absolutely nothing to do with what you’re alluding to. Its a shame thats even brought up.

My post has to do with the fact ive actually been to enough games in person this year to see they’ve tried to run the offense through Jesse against good teams and it’s floundered. Virginia being the latest example.
You weren’t the one who said Elon should be quiet for 44+ years. That’s what I’m reacting to. Saying the black guy should be quiet his whole life is disgusting.

Did you catch the announcer calling Jesse 7’1”?
Did they change his listed height finally to match reality ?

And I apologize to trueblue for implying it was him that said something bad.

Etan helped Jesse when he was a frosh here. He didn’t tell him to transfer and move on. He counseled him through it.
Yeah, I don’t have a problem with anything he did behind the scenes.

Having said that, he’s way past the point where he should understand why he played limited minutes as a freshman. First of all, he was playing behind Otis Hill, one of the stars from our Final Four run the year before, and Elvir Ovcina, who already had a year of experience in the system. Second, he had no offensive game to speak of whatsoever. Finally, he couldn’t stay out of foul trouble. He fouled out in the first half of the McNabb game.

Thomas has always been more mature than most SU alumni (not just players), but this is his blind spot. JB turned him into a lottery pick. There shouldn’t be any ill will after all this time.

How could he complain about playing time as a frosh? He’d foul out in 5 minutes .

Judah's last quarter of the game was simply phenomenal. His best of the season. Shades of what might be, next year
Yeah, all the people who said he has no business on the floor or with the ball in crunch time get to eat Sbarro tonight. Thanks for the reminder.

I think you are giving JB too much credit for turning Etan into a lottery pick. Did he help with his growth….sure, but Etans work ethic and time spent outside of team practice (often with other coaches) is what primarily turned him into a lottery pick.

We saw this after Louis Orr passed.

Who hired the other coaches?

Isn’t that expected for all players? Wouldn’t a player realize that it’s the only way to improve? That’s why coaches hire a staff. Etan seems like an intelligent person so I figure he must have known that he would need to up his work ethic in college and work with the assistant coaches to improve his game especially if he had NBA aspirations?
