Yeah, it was mostly George's and Donnie's TOs that cost us the game.

Bad head coach and a mediocre PG. = BIG TROUBLE !!!!!

You know, I still like the way this team is playing. I felt like we were always going to win that game, but geez the TOs by George and Donnie were really tough. And there were a bunch of them in the late 2nd half.

Donnie had some awful passes
Besides Kingz no one showed up

They need to win 4 of NC St, UNC, Duke, UVA and Lville road games and UNC at home for any shot

Let's start with "let's win the games we're supposed to win", before you place the entire season on 3 or 4 game results.

The turnovers were comical. The BC defense had nothing to do with most of them. George turns it over twice within 10 seconds. Could be an ACC record. Red can take some of the heat but the players sucked at crucial times. Donnie makes a FT and we win. We won ugly our last 3 games but couldn't get away with it today. If the team plays like this the rest of the season who are we going to beat? ND? Maybe Pitt at home. We could end up with a losing record.

And at least half of those turnovers were the two of them trying to play hero ball instead of team.

I think it was mostly lazy, stupid passes.

For what these guys are getting paid, you'd think they would try a little harder.

Kiyan should be a lot more productive given the hype.

The hype was silly. He’s clearly a physically underdeveloped, work in progress. If his name was Kiyan Smith he’d probably be riding the pine.

Funny enough, I never for one second thought we’d lose that game… until there was 45 seconds left and BC had the ball down 3. I even thought we’d pull it out in OT, until that BC dude diced our pathetic D and tomahawked.

as bad as BC is they excel at 1 on 1 lock down defense

Su can usually find a mismatch to exploit...but donnie was bottled up, kiyan didnt score, jj didnt offer much, george had his worst game of the season, betsey was marked out of the game and only got 2 shots

the "gameplan" has always been to just go to the players that can get theirs 1 on 1 - but the only guy that could in this game was kingz and the rest were bottled up...and this team is horrible at findng kingz

they had to realize that the 1 on 1 - alternate who gets it strategy that they use last 10 minutes of every game - wouldnt work vs THIS opponent

even though BC sucks...SU's approach literally plays right into their hands

BC wants oppponents to try to go 1 on 1 against them!

if SU hadnt gone iso and played team ball they would won by a lot

they are way more talented

Kiyan is the 8th best player in an 8 1/2 man rotation, so don't expect him to save us.

3-2 in conference. Just need to win 90% of the rest of the games.

There are no new Syracuse fans but alumni and maybe some kids around the city of Syracuse for about two decades now. This may never get better again.

The school wants to spend little money to get the best results. It was possible 20 years ago but it is impossible now. They need to spend the money.

Kiyan doesn’t get a pass. He’s been awful. No help at all. The freshman excuse thing doesn’t hold in today’s world anymore. Sadiq sucked too today.

Kiyan - 17 minutes today. Poor defense. No baskets at all, no threes.

No assists, no steals, no blocks. 1 for 2 from the foul line.

In SWC's old Net Points scoring system, he would have been -3. People usually don't play when they have negative contributions.

I will say that Reds substitution patterns make no sense.
They didn’t last year, they haven’t this year.
He doesn’t believe in riding the hot hand.
I swear he decides before every game how many minutes each player will get and doesn’t change it no matter if the player is doing great or is sucking wind.
he is often our biggest momentum killer.

It's up to the coaches to properly enforce ball discipline in practice so it translates to the games. SU has been lackadaisical with the ball for 3 seasons now.
That is on the coaching staff.

george jr. , starling sr. , freeman (kinda sophomore due to injury) , kyle sr . this is not a young inexperienced team. it ain't all on the coach. these players should know how to win.

No comment on the players. Just let me know when Red is fired and who we’re looking at to be HC.

I was told that JB would have brought the mayhem down if we didn’t hire one of his guys.

Glad we abided by that after his decade long slide to be where we are today. Continuously sliding into oblivion after hiring Red. I guess what we were under threat of is worse than this. Or maybe not and everyone just bowed down to JB.

But at this point, it’s time to fire Red. And get new blood in that has no ties to the JB regime.

Exactly. But people were apparently what would have happened if we didn’t concede to JB.

i wouldn't say JB was fired. he was politely asked to please move on. a couple times.

He wasn't fired he was encouraged to let Syracuse make a coaching change and he finally accepted on his own terms, that's why we got Red.

He put the players - or lines of players - out there. Like JJ and the deadly screens. How many games have we lost late because of that? More than 2? 3?
Yes, the players play.
But shoot man, have a plan.
Announcers are saying it. We’re saying it.
How can he be so dense that he just loafs back and forth, but doesn’t actually run/call plays.
We slowed the game down at the end, then let a player take a tying 3?

Donnie’s handle is also pretty weak; I think there were 2 or 3 times he tried to face up and drive a guy and lost the ball.
