BC won't like this

This could be good news for SU. If ND will play a "home" game in Fenway, they might consider a game vs SU in the Meadowlands as a home game. Playing every Irish game in Met Life is far preferable to one in South Bend/one in NJ.
I think those discussions were happening before ND announced they were going to join the ACC/play 5 ACC schools in football each season OOC.

Before that, they were in desperate need of games to fill out their schedule, especially late in the season when most schools play only in conference games. I believe the ACC agreement addressed that need.

Smart of ND. In the new format Notre Dame will no longer be playing BC near-annually. If ND plays ALL ACC teams during every 3-year period the MOST BC can expect is a home game against ND every 3-6 years. I think this gets ND into the Boston metro in a year that they will not be playing BC. UMASS could fulfill the same function in the future.

OH THE HORROR!!!!!!

BOYCOTT!!!

ND is going to give up selling 80,000 tickets in South Bend to sell maybe 40,000 in Fenway (if they can even cram that many in)?

ND refused to play road games at Rentschler Field, Rutgers Stadium, or the Carrier Dome because they were too small.

I'll believe it when I see it.

My dad used to go to Boston Pats games at Fenway. They can squeeze more than 40K in there easy.

Largest crowd I could find at Fenway was 39,350 against Buffalo in 1966. Hard to tell, since the Pats were usually horrible.

Why would UConn boycott? Its ND home game.

This game is about exposure. In New England and on television.

That said, I suspect the $74 seats in South Bend will be replaced with $150 seats in Boston. And on up.

It doesn't matter. Logic does not need to apply. The fans are being treated like crap, just trust me. Boycott! Who's with me?!?!

whoa everybody. Notre Dame is trying to start the ACC rotation of 5 games in 2014...if this is accomplished, I doubt that Notre Dame plays Uconn in '14...just a guess of course.

Why Fenway and not Gillette? Weird...

Heart of the city, historical stadium. Those are my guesses. I'm not a huge fan of football in baseball stadiums, fans are too far from the action. But all the kids are doing it now. Even throwing hockey games in there.

Maybe baseball should try the old Coors Field move and play some games in football stadiums. Short porch in right (or left) is 200 feet. Swing away boys.

Don't know anyone that has ever boycotted any athletic event unless you count the Olympics. But ok.

I do love the Animal House reference though.

Lots of SU fans didn't buy tickets this year because of the USC game. Some even posted about it on this board.

Imo, that's not a boycott. Its a reason that said to some that the home schedule wasn't attractive (which it wasn't).

Sometimes I use silly words for a humorous affect.

Just a different interpretation of the word boycott.
