Belichick to UNC

That would be truly interesting. Could he handle coaching 18 year olds?

He is 72. Even 20 years ago, I couldn't see him visiting recruits and trying to get them to sign on the dotted line.

In the college football environment today, I just can't imagine him being remotely successful.

It would be great if it happened. They play us in the dome in 2025.

I know coaches still need to recruit, but no reason he couldn’t hire an amazing GM and build out a recruiting staff to do the majority of the work, and then he could just call and show up to shake hands once in a while. Name recognition alone will get him in a lot of doors without needing to build long term relationships.

Kind of like Tom Hanks in "A League of Their Own.".

He wants the NFL all-time wins record, not some college job

Just what I would want if I were Bubba - a 72 year old who won't want to do the travel necessary in today's environment, who won't have a Tom Brady to win him games, who might be side-eyeing the cheerleaders during the game to see if he could do better, etc.

his career record without Brady was 83-104 including 29-38 in NE post Brady.
The one year Brady was injured the Patriots still went 11-5 and were one of the only teams in history to not make the playoffs with that record.

Belichick and Brady are both GOATs.

Those folks down yonder do have some weird opinions at times so you never know…

He’s a great coach who didn’t have as much success without the greatest QB in NFL history. That’s both not a knock and a fact. That said there is nothing to point to that he would succeed at the college level at his age and having spent the last few decades in the NFL. The back from retirement tours for a new challenge of the all time greats typically don’t go well.
