Big Game

The heck with the PC BS i hope that he is out for our game. Not hurt long term just enough to have him out for our game. We have lost key players and are extremely thin on D. Injuries are part of the game. I don't want any kid hurt long term but at this point we need all the breaks we can get.

Eh, still a top 25 matchup. Wouldn't give that an asterisk.

I'm not personally giving it an asterisk. However, there's no doubt that talking heads, media, etc. will in all probability make mention of it. That's what I'm implying.

It's not unpredictable that your "eh," or dismissal, etc., of such a factor for Orange goggled fans as us would have this particular sentiment, especially since it's tilted in our favor. I wonder what your feeling would be if Shrader went down in similar fashion and then we were off to play at State in 6 days?

Is Syracuse still a Top 25 team if Shrader wasn't playing? Fact is, there isn't a position in any sport out there that is as crucial as your high level/starting QB.

Do we care that much about the talking heads/media if we get to 6 wins with a big home win vs a ranked conference rival? So what if they discount the win. We're still undefeated. We'd be heading to Clemson for arguably the best in conference matchup all season. I feel like that would matter more.

NC St found a way to beat FSU w/their geriatric (25), one dimensional QB. They could find a way to beat us. Its a game and can be managed in many ways. You throw in TOs and special teams play and anything could happen.
We just need to play our game and take advantage of their one trick pony offense should the 2nd stringer start. And even if he does start they may work in a third stringer who is more of a passing specialist.
In the decibel-augmented Dome, w/2-3 weeks of rest, I like our chances. But what do I know? Would love to see SU elevate to a new level in a big game like they did against PSU in ’87.

Yep this isn’t March Madness and we are on the bubble. If we go 13-0 we will make the playoff. Anything less we won’t and then who gives a crap, bowls won’t pick or not pick us if we beat NC State without Leary

I think we have a slight edge if we don’t give them easy points like we did vs Hoos. A turnover by itself is not damaging unless it gives the opponent a short field. With their O going run heavy we need to make them go 80 yards.

I think they get the 3rd stringer in there to sling it. If they try to win running wild cat the whole game their QB is going to be hurting real bad and the 3rd stringer will get run anyway.

True, but my concern is we "don't have enough film and footage" to thoroughly research this backup quarterback, which as you know, puts us at a tremendous disadvantage

3 rd stringer in the game with only a week to prepare. . Sign me up.
I mean it can't be good for them but their backup threw one pass which speaks to his skillset. They either come in and run the army offense with 1 week of practice or they put in the 3rd string that can run the normal offense even if it's slimmed down.

I don’t care what the talking heads or anyone else thinks.

The only thing I care about is going 1-0 this week.

Win, and everything else will take care of itself.

Go Orange!

When we looked the schedule this year we all noted that NCState was coming off Clemson / FSU while we had Wagner / Bye.

We knew they could be dinged up and they are. I’m not feeling sorry for them.

We could get banged up pretty good going NCState/Clemson/ ND.

No one will be shedding a tear for us.

I'm confident our defense will keep us in this game no matter the QB situation with NC State. I'm not so confident that our offense will move the ball well

No kidding.

Nor should we feel any sympathy for them. Let's beat their ass, and then worry about the other teams down the road. And if they have injuries or suspensions, so much the better for us.

Just win, baby.

And here's hoping their trailer trash fanbase has a long ride home on Saturday.

This is literally the biggest game played by any team ever!

That's not "anti-PC"; it's poor sportsmanship. This is silly.

Did SU get asterisks when we had QBs missing?

If you mean they found a way as in norvell made the absolute dumbest decision in the history of college football! Then yes they made quite the trip to victory
