Ironically if you look at the conference make-up of the ACC and BE football schools from 2003 all that's happened is taking almost all the BE football schools and moving them to a division within the ACC.
BC, VT, Miami, SU, Pitt, and probably soon UConn and Rutgers/WVU. They could have just done this in one orderly move then instead of piecemeal over 8 years and spared everyone all the grief. Looking back, the Big East may have had the better assets. Unfortunately the ACC had far better leadership and a vision and a plan while the BE never did.
