Bills 2024 Thread - Misery loves company

As someone pointed out last night, Beane has done a good job but some of these contracts are absolute albatrosses. The Von contract I give a pass dude tore his ACL, injuries happen but the Bass and Knox contracts are really bad. The Samuel contract already looks like a disaster.

I know the salary cap is tight but Buffalo has to at least bring in someone at WR. I don't love Cooper but you can't just roll with what you got. Coleman get's zero separation and Mack Hollins is a fringe 4th or 5th Wr. Shakir has been great but man you gotta have someone beyond him.

the Curtis Samuel situation is just so strange. I know he's been injured but I just can't believe the lack of production and the utilization in the offense after having his best year at Carolina under Brady. Hoping he can at least be somewhat productive in a few games.

I think all the WR's would look better with even a true #2 type NFL receiver. I still really like Coleman if they could use him properly

None of this is a surprise though and probably what the Bills anticipated regardless what is said publicly, they weighed the pros/ cons of getting rid of Diggs and the rest is history. I still would not want Diggs back, it was so tiring

It’s gets annoying when they bring on the celebrities on games where I’m really interested in watching. But when BB is zoned in on the game , it’s a gold mine
He doesn't think much of our defense. Eli kept interrupting him, he can be funny but wish he'd save the nonsense for non-BB segments.
The celebrities are an insta channel change.

Agree on Diggs, it was time to move on. He would certainly help if he was on the team but ya to much Drama and nonsense it was time to part ways. I liked the Samuel signing when it happened but we seem to have zero idea how to use him properly and those behind the LS passes haven't worked one iota.

The other concern I have is what is the plan at WR moving forward? Clearly Buffalo will address it again in the offseason but the FA class is pretty weak beyond Tee Higgins and that assumes Cincy doesn't franchise tag him again. Lamb Aiyuk and Jefferson all were FAs who signed big deals so the top 2 guys are essentially Higgins and Diggs and we know Diggs isn't coming back here. I believe Godwin is a FA but again that assumes TB won't work out a deal or Tag him and a slot Wr isn't really our issue anyway. I guess Maybe Cooper would be a stopgap as he's a FA along with Diontae Johnson. Buffalo may have to use another early pick on WR again.

Good Point, not sure what they do but if they are going to draft another 2nd round WR just pick the fastest one left at that point. Safety also needs help but different topic

Coleman had those big college moments but hardly was a force most games. Plays that work because the QB stresses out the D dont happen as much in the Pros even with Allen as QB.

Bit of a sloppy game but a win is a win especially on the road in the division.

Do think the Bills need help at WR but just someone who can win enough vs man coverage and catch a deep ball or two. Would really help open everything else in the passing game. Running game looks great

I know the last two years are non-guaranteed so the Jets can release him with no dead cap or re-negotiate but only the Jets agree to take on teh balance of this years salary - 11mill + when they have all the leverage. Dude had no other realistic landing place and the Jets still took on all of the salary. Horrific
They owe him nothing beyond this year if they cut him. But WR isn’t their problem. if the bills could have made the cap work it would make more sense for them to give up a conditional 3rd than it would the jets. I still prefer Cooper

I’m shocked at how slow he looks. Seems like he’s running in sand

Yeah other than the foot/ toe injury it just defies logic. I wish they would just sit some of these guys until they are actually capable of running and cutting at close to game speed. Cook, Shakir, Samuel. What good are they at 60%? I don't know. Shakir took what 30-35% of the snaps last night, what does the injury look like today? who knows?

So Adams set the market and now the WR chips are falling

Watching Bass the past year is kind of a sad story really went from a very good field goal kicker to one of the worst in the league and after an entire off season of probably reviewing every aspect of the technique and approach, it's pretty clear that his issues are mental and that has quite honestly lost it, zero confidence and just watching it to continue to unravel. He's probably done as an NFL kicker when Buffalo moves on one would think.

At this point with what they pay him, I would think he has exhausted every avenue to try and right the ship but he's done. It's not going to get better at this point? Hate to see it really

He should honestly just do nothing for a while and factory reset

That's probably the best idea for him. Like I said, I am sure he worked all off season on every aspect but he really does need a reset

Cooper going to play this week ? Probably have a small package of plays for him?

I'd be shocked if he didn't. I mean he's gonna have essentially 5 days to learn the playbook and work with Allen. Dude's a veteran shouldn't be an issue.
Well he doesn’t have far to travel

Jamal Adams anyone ? Getting released by Titans

Kinda the same boat as Devin White where he's a big name and probably more of a headache than a player at this point but I wouldn't be mad if they brought him in for a workout to see what they think. Feel like Adams is more in the Rapp mold of safety vs. a Hamlin replacement though.
