Maybe in the end the Bills were happy to see coach Doug Marrone choose to take $4 million to walk away. If the team would have fired Marrone, the total would have been up to $8 million.

I cannot believe "unnamed Bills sources" would say a thing like that.

So you think there weren't any sources just because they don't want their name in public?

Man, this is what Marrone will face and he hasn't even been hired yet. Pack up the babies and grab the old ladies this is going to get a lot worse.

NY Jets interview Doug Marrone, and with Bills, the 'average' ex-coach rubbed many in organization the wrong way
As a jets fan, Manish Mehta is a toolbag who puts a negative spin on literally anything. He wants no part of Marrone because his job would be harder, so he is putting together a smear campaign before he even gets there.

It is widely believed that Mehta has made up sources and stories about the jets franchise in the past 3 years to stir up controversy for views and clicks.

Now Marrone might be a giant who runs everybody sideways but that has nothing to do with manishs article, screw that guy.

I think when people here quote actual people who like Marrone, we get "Oh, you can always find someone who likes a coach." Yet, "unnamed sources" seem to have a lot of credibility with those people.

Widely believed? Is that like have you stopped beating your wife?

That's why it's done isn't it? No one can prove you don't have anonymous sources. However Mehta isn't even liked within the media community of NY beatwriters they hate the guy for his underhanded and dirty practices. Other members off the media hate him and don't believe he actually has sources. A few training camps ago, Rich cimini (espn jets beatwriter) made a fake Mehta account as a parody that was hilarious and all the other beats loved it because Mehta is a disgrace to the profession, it would still be running if he didn't get caught.

But believe what you will. I'm only a jets fan who has dealt with Manish's BS for 3+ years.

The Bills remind me of the woman who is upset that the married man she has been dating is cheating on her.

They saw how he left Syracuse and now want to be surprised he treated them the same way? Hilarious.

I guess you missed the reaction from most of the NY media to the crap that Lupica and that other guy wrote.

Just because I think Marrone is a jerk and dummy doesn't put me on Whaley or Brandon's side. They are terrible too. I wonder what kind of impact Brandon had on that watkins pick.

I'm excited that marrone's gone and I hope Brandon is next. Whaley will get another year but he'll go too soon enough

I really don't fault Marrone for leaving and I don't fault pegula for not overpaying. Pegula inherited a real sh!tshow.

Well, post them.

Exactly. Every dick has some friends and they have no problem saying so. Those in the business who are negative are not going to be so prone to attach their name. One, it looks unprofessional and two, you never know who you're gonna work with or for again someday. It's not that hard to understand.

Yeah the Bills old guard is real professional by going public (anonymously) with their thoughts about the guy on his way out the door. They certainly couldn't have an agenda-

It's bad to trade up for a WR with no QB to get the ball to him? ;)
It's REALLY bad to trade up for a WR in a draft that is loaded with WR's. They could have stayed where they were and took Beckham or Benjamin who are no worse than Watkins in the eyes of many. Throw in Evans and you can make a case Watkins ends up being the 4th best WR in last years class. No sense in trading up for one when one of these great players were going to fall into your lap. And the BEST one, Beckham, was going to fall into your lap

Oh come on

This was a response to Marrone doing the saw thing

This is the thing I don't get- whoever the anonymous sources are: if the guy was so bad, why do you care? He's gone- why not leave it at that? If he's such a cancer let him go to your divisional rival and burn the place down to your benefit in Buffalo. Clearly there is a motivation for the sniping and it smells like cya to me

The NY Post article also mentioned that SU football is a lousy football job.

And you have no idea if it's the "old guard" or who it is. People now want to draw that straw man.
