Binghamton Post Game Thread

The great thing about Kyle is he’s not an NBA center and can’t shoot. So he is going to be a four year guy. Only two guys in recent history, Warrick and Grant have looked that ferocious around the rim.

Lots of us were concerned about the exhibitions because for several years, we’ve been terrible in exhibitions and terrible vs cupcakes in the regular season too. Today’s effort was a pleasant surprise..
William Kyle is a senior unfortunately

Need more hoops? First look at Dybantsa on TNT.
BYU/Nova just underway.
Just watched the last 10 minutes of Houston/Lehigh. Houston looks good again, but not nearly as dominant as they’ve been. It’s a good thing we’re getting them early. Also, Lehigh looked very organized and was not intimidated. Lehigh will beat Rutgers in a few weeks.

Lots of the guys that we expected to play great played great. And Kiyan is definitely a scorer that will play a lot.

Here’s some random thoughts.

-Fennell has a rocker step that is a travel. I expect him to get called for that a few times this year.

-in the age of NIL, how does a player like Lillley not wind up as some P4 back up making $500,000?

-Zephir plays very hard, makes good decisions, plays defense and rebounds. I think Red might reward him with one or two minutes per game just because.

-weak side help and shot blocking was much better, but interior defense will still be a problem.

-when it comes to defensive rebounding and then his style pushing the ball up court, Freeman reminds me a lot of DC.

-even though he was picked second team ACC, (and I like his game overall, despite his shortcomings), JJ is our most replaceable starter IMO. Kiyan can clearly play the two or Kingz can play the two with Betsey or White at the 3.
I’m a Binghamton alum and I know Lilley got like half of their NiL money this year. But he could get paid a lot more too. Kid is work horse

Emeka Egbuka on the Bucs strained his and was back the next week.
Yeah this. I was a sprinter and we dealt with hamstrings fairly often. There’s obviously different degrees but it was usually “just” an annoying thing we had to spend a lot of time in the training room for. It’s a big honkin muscle with a lot of blood flow.

My over/under would be two games out and that’s mostly because the risk isn’t worth it for cupcakes. Maybe limited minutes for a few games thereafter.

Honestly not the worst thing in the world for us or him. I'm guilty of hoping JJ had his mins more limited anyway to make way for other rotations.

We need him back for sure though he just can be tough to stop for defenses when he gets his head in the game and is getting downhill.

I’d expect him to sit Saturday as precaution and have him back for Drexel on the 15th. That said I don’t think he’s as critical a loss as some of the others would be.
