Blackout Looms of ESPN on YouTubeTV

Wasn't Wildhack King of ESPN before coming to Cuse??
Must really have some connections...
Just more evidence he needs to go.
Any real AD worth a damn would remedy this boardroom tussle between Google and Disney by lunch, then offer Fran an extension with an $80M buyout by Happy Hour.
(all in jest, as JW is our greatest athletic resource right now)

See my post #119.
Agree totally I'd have a backup plan. ESPN+ is what Big 12, non power 5 schools had their games on. But you will need ESPN Unlimited to watch the game tonight.

Basically if you are paying $19.99 per month for your Disney, Hulu, ESPN streaming package, I think you're screwed. But if you have one of the below packages, you'll be good

  • Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Unlimited Bundle (Ad-supported): $29.99 per month for the first 12 months (regularly $35.99 per month).
  • Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Unlimited Bundle Premium (Ad-free): $38.99 per month for the first 12 months (regularly $44.99 per month).

I have a couple of ways in which I can watch the game on espn but nothing that will allow me to watch delayed and pausing as needed. Therefore, I went with a one day pass with Sling, that's roughly $5.64 after tax. I just experimented with it. I went to espn, which is showing sportscenter right now, I clicked on record and it allows me to pause as long I want.

I'm going to get the Sling day pass just before the game starts so I can watch tomorrow until 7:30 for the same 6 bucks.

Is anyone YTTV and going to FUBO?

I have the disney+ hulu espn+ bundle.

Just found out directv is giving me the ESPN unlimited.

Thats good because ESPN caps the feeds you can stream

The hard part is the all started using the same email and now its all confused.

I thought about it, but held off for now.

I purchased the ESPN Unlimited for at least one month. Hopefully YTTV gives me a $20 credit which pays for most of it. And they figure this out in November.

I'd rather keep YTTV, I like the user interface much better.

I was originally going to do the free trial of DirecTV stream but I think I'm going to do this also. I'm not confident this is going to be a short term dispute. And either a YTTV credit or my credit card rewards points will offset the charge this month.

Hardest part will be the commercials. App jumping is not enjoyable or easy.

I could just spend more time in the game thread because that's always healthy on a Friday night when happy hour starts at 4 pm.

Speaking of which...

How are you locked out? Do you get an error message or something? I just tried logging in with tv provider (selecting YTTV), and I get the following screen so I think it still works.

I don’t have ESPN Unlimited, however, what do you have? By locked out, it tells me that Disney channels are not available through my provider

Sorry if this has been discussed already -

Is it a foregone conclusion that this will not be resolved in the next three hours?
I understand it may be unlikely.
Just trying to confirm if I definitely need to go with another option.

Dont buy the Espn Unlimited... Espn app sucks and adding a $30/month price tag for shotty Espn services is not worth it... plus it gives Disney the power.

Deadline is 11:59pm on Oct 30th. Just in time to blackout our game with UNC on Halloween night. Disney has an incentive to not make a deal with the intention that YouTubeTV subscribers affected would switch to Hulu Live TV. Sounds like something that should be an antitrust problem if it isn't already.

Thank you, thank you. I had been trying to get on ESPN all morning and just found out that I don't have ABC either.

I had the same plan, but I would make alternate plans at this point. No inside info, just advice.

you can wait until the last minute. 6:30p or 7pm to decide

ESPN app is also not really working now that they enforce stream limits

you only can watch 3 things at once. But they have multiple ways to connect

So I have one tv connected with provider and with disney/espn+. Even though the provider should work it wont because 3 tvs are connected using ESPN+. And this is even is the channel is ESPN which doesnt use ESPN+ login anyway

YTTV has until 6:30. At that time I'll start my DirecTV trial. Must watch the SU game tonight.

We're hosting a big Florida-Georgia game party tomorrow. Must have our local ABC channel.
