Blocking by the numbers

I’m one that doesn’t believe Tucker is that “hurt”. The guys who are hurt are on the sidelines in street clothes. Many football players go on the field and play with bumps and bruises and soreness and are dinged up. If he was that hurting he would t be used as much as he is. He also had a few runs, especially late, where he showed a lot of burst and wiggle. He also doesn’t look any different going out for all those passes. I think people after seeing their “stars” not perform as well as expected, Tucker and Shrader, default to “he must be hurt”. Is he dinged up? Maybe. Does he have some soreness? Maybe. But he’s not hurt to the point that he can’t perform well. Not when we are seeing him sent into a wall of defenders 20 times
Seems like many of us are in agreement, then, that the coaches have to reinstall some of the run block schemes that catered to Tucker’s strengths… and more importantly to the offensive linemen’s abilities.

If scheme changes are not evident for Wagner - when it’s optimal to tinker and experiment in a live lab - then it’s likely there will be no changes at all.

In the ACC for the season

Vett graded 10th at center
Bleich graded 20th at guard
Ellis graded 27th at guard
Berg graded 5th at tackle
Davis graded 19th at tackle
How many are graded at each position? With 100+ teams, each with two guards and tackles and 1 center, you'd be seeing our worst guy 27th out of 200 players?

That couldn't be right, considering how much complaining we've been doing about the OL, right?

EDIT: so only ACC players are counting... 27th out of 32 starters isn't so hot.

PFF has grown substantially over past five years. I have no doubt they get film from most schools these days. It’s very easy to supply digitally after a game for P5 schools.

True. He was banged up last season as well.
