I'm gratified that their athletic department employees know how to use a comma.
I can't be the only 1 who thinks this is how JB goes out. Just randomly and immediate sometime over the next 2.5 years.
For all I know, it happens after the UNC game this year.
I expect he will not want a year long Derek Jeter style goodbye tour, where schools give him rocking chairs, golf clubs, etc.I can't be the only 1 who thinks this is how JB goes out. Just randomly and immediate sometime over the next 2.5 years.

That is why I think he will retire before his stated planned retirement date and that is why I think it will happen during the off season. Retiring in the middle of the season is not fair to Hop or the players and JB cares about both too much to do that.
Note the use of two commas in my first sentence. That was a Christmas bone for OttoMets!
Plus, you used the Oxford comma. I knew I liked you for a reason other than your love of tubas and connoiseurship of ginger ales around the world. You're a good man, Sir Tomcat.I expect he will not want a year long Derek Jeter style goodbye tour, where schools give him rocking chairs, golf clubs, etc.

Apparently he was going to. He stayed on so his assistant, Coach Gard, could be with his father while he battled cancer instead of worrying about the rigors of the HC position. My respect for him goes up even further.not surprised. He should have walked away in March
That is not what he said. What he said was actually worse. He said that at some point the game play by play guys would say that Syracuse has a talent gap over Miami. Now to be fair, the network left our game where I was watching so the game guys could have said that after they left when we were trailing 59-0Remember in 2001 when you said Syracuse was too talented for Miami to handle before losing 59-0?
Good times...
He never came across as gracious in defeat. I can think of many coaches who are irascible and generally unlikable yet somehow find a way to exhibit some class during disappointing moments.I agree with your first sentence totally. His post game whining and excuse making is what really turned me off about him. It wasn't just after the Duke game either - multiple games.
Excellent job getting the punctuation marks inside the quotation marks.People who are anti oxford comma probably misuse "literally," and don't know the meaning of "peruse."
Thanks suttree. In my reckless youth, I was not a proponent of the Oxford comma. Thought it was pompous and too English for my American ways.Plus, you used the Oxford comma. saying if i can only beat tavern league, it's time to go.

They will take my Oxford comma from me when they pry it from my cold, dead hands.People who are anti oxford comma probably misuse "literally," and don't know the meaning of "peruse."
Your hands will be cold, dead, and tightly clenched. They will take my Oxford comma from me when they pry it from my cold, dead hands.
I don't think JB will quit abruptly mid-season. Bo did this, it appears, as sort of a "nuclear" option to get his guy Gard at least an audition for the remainder of the season - Alavarez would have hired someone else if Bo had quit during off-season - essentially what Calhoun did at ucon
JB better not step down 10 games into a season. I'm good with him not making an advance announcement if that's the way he wants to handle it, but do it in a way that works to Hop's advantage.
He's "unofficially" at 972.
Maybe he retires after JB1K next season?
I was always taught growing up that the Oxford comma was grammatically incorrect. I got into many arguments with teachers that its absence changes the sentence meaning. To no avail.docsu said:People who are anti oxford comma probably misuse "literally," and don't know the meaning of "peruse."
I think the consensus on the pay side is that he will do it at the end of next season - hopefully with another Final Four on his resume - and not see out the 'Farewell Tour' that would accompany an official "last season".
