Telling a lie about Jb the first time you go on tv talking about him is pretty bad. I doubt Bernie told a lie about JB in 30 years.

Um, really? There was an investigation...by three different outlets, in which, the university hired a very respectable law firm to conduct theirs. How do you know what Boeheim is or isn't privey to? Maybe he has plenty of facts? If that investigation had revealed anything that made Bernie's character shoddy, I believe JB/the university would've parted ways with him...

Dumb question: but what is the third investigation that everyone is referring to? SPD in 2002, University in 2005...what was the other that JB said revealed nothing?

Nope, he also said they were doing it for money. I love the guy, but he overplayed this one. I think Nancy Cantor would agree with me.

I guarantee you Cantor would agree with you. If you object to him speculating on motive, I'd agree he might have been better off not going there. What I'm curious about now is if you would have supported what JB said if he called them liars and focused solely on the events he would have had personal knowledge about. Is the problem him using the word liars, or is the problem him speaking publicly?

ESPN also did an investigation when Davis initially contacted them, and they decided not to run the story because they couldn't corroborate it.

It remains to be seen if SPD actually investigated anything in 2002. The PS ran their story yesterday about what they looked at in 2002. The University has stated their attorneys conducted a 4 month investigation. I'm not sure that ESPN has actually stated what the extent of their investigation was.

Has the SPD even confirmed that Davis contacted them in 2002?

I don't believe SPD ever investigated anything until very recently. It's possible that there wasn't even a police report filed before now.

All we know is: 2002: P&S, 2003: ESPN, 2005: SU, 2011: ESPN & SPD.

Its just the perception of calling a potential victim a liar. No reason he could not have said all that he did and left out the liar part.

Boeheim dealt with the Davis issue several years ago after Davis had been close to the program. The history they have together is more than just since the most recent announcement. JB has to be pissed at Davis if he's convinced that Bernie did no wrong.

I understand that. I understand responding forcefully. But I think you have to understand that calling a potential victim a "liar" isnt always the best from a public perception standpoint (which is my point). He could have just said "we've been through this thoroughly for years and there is nothing that I have ever seen that indicates BF did anything wrong." Just leave out the "liar" part...because that is the part that can come back and haunt him/us.
