Boeheim's Army vs Brotherly Love Game Info...

hate to say it but w the loss of Oshae and Paschal and no real replacements in the rebounding department, look for games like today from our '19-20 Orange in terms of getting murdered on the glass - specifically giving up offensive rebounds

Very disappointing. We really missed two of our best players, if not the two best, in Triche and McCullough. Triche for his headiness and DEFENSE and McCullough for his young kegs inside. Both would have started IMO, or should have.

Love was great with their movement and always making the extra pass. Even when we dug down and played hard defense, they’d just make one more pass to get us out of position due to lack of quickness.

Disappointed we didn’t play White and BJ more together. But even when they were we ran nothing to get them clean looks. The offense was nothing but one in one for a drive or a long jumper. Shots weren’t gotten off any movement and passing.

These guys are mostly all SU legends. But it’s time to start over even if we pick up a few non SU guys. The only ones I would invite back next year are White, BJ, Devo if he still wants to play, Hak if he really wants to stay in the game and maybe maybe G if we can’t get enough guys. Get Triche and McCullough back. Add Hak and Ennis if we can and one more wing that can Shoot. Nichols maybe but I think he’s moved on from this.

Bigs - Rak, McCullough, Hak

Wings - White, BJ, DNic or equivalent.

Guards - Triche, Ennis, Devo
I totally agree. If we want to win we need less Orange loyalty from coach on down. If we just want this to showcase Cuse Nation and it's fans ...that's fine too but we aren't winning.

I feel like a younger defensive minded big would have helped with rebounding and boards. I wish they would have invited Dashonte Riley back this year. Im okay with Mookie coming back again for depth though.

This team seemed to lack something from the beginning, especially on the boards. The idea that the bigs were a bit long in the tooth has credence. Maybe it's that we didn't do a great job of recruiting bigs in recent years?

I hope that was directed at Crawford. He brought none of what Blackwell referenced to the table.

Couple years ago he probably could have played the way he did and it work out. But he didn’t look like the guy that played for the Celtics 5 years ago.

Everyone in their 30s looked slower than years past.

You can absolutely put together team of non NBA Cuse alums who would smoke this years BA. Glad they won a couple games even if they got past the Philly team they’d have had no shot in Chicago.

Guard play needs to improve Ennis and Wes would be my starters next year.

Cuse loyalty isn’t the problem you can build a team that can beat overseas elite from the 30-40 alums who would qualify. But it’s easier said than done and they’d likely be underdogs due to cohesion and the likes I’m sure there’s internal politics working against BA that other teams don’t have to deal with.

I think we want to put 2 teams in this thing and let them battle each other for a week before to get up to speed.

Really shocked to see how slow and unable Arinze was. Last year he was in much better shape. I don’t think 3 in 3 days did this group much good. That said, they needed a point guard instead of a lot of lead guards. For some reason, Blackwell forcefed Crawford and Devo minutes, and AO too. After the first two minutes it was apparent AO had nothing and couldn’t play. There was a stretch in the 4th where they basically quit. That can’t happen no matter who is coaching. Officials didn’t help matters.

I just think they were exhausted at the end.

Wes at guard? He can’t dribble.

Yeah, why not? High Basketball IQ and last I check he’d cleaned his image up a bit.

I know he lives in Cuse and works with youth b-ball players (last I heard, anyway), but he doesn’t seem to come around the program much from what I can tell?
