Boeheims on CBS Mornings

SU just got some really nice national coverage on CBS Mornings. Nate Burleson interviewed Coach, Buddy and Jimmy in Syracuse and it aired at 8 this morning. Will share link once it's posted.
I'm going to admit it. That interview made my eyes water a bit.

Great kids, and great dad. Glad they got to experience this. We all (them included) hoped for a better outcome vis a vis W/L, but it's something they (and at least me) will always cherish.

Because they've been in the news and there will be no postseason for them.
Season over means the story has little relevance, IMO. Nice fluff piece but timing is weird to me.

That was a great segment, thanks for posting.

I don't watch a lot sports news/media so I'm probably not qualified to say this...

Nate Burelson has seemingly come out of nowhere and is really good at it.

He was fantastic on “Good Morning Football” over at NFL Network for a few years before taking this gig.

If not now, when would be more timely?
During the season? So people could watch the team play with the players and coach involved?

I'm not sure when they filmed that, but I think it was fairly recently. CBS probably would have aired it the morning of SU's first NCAAT game if the team had gotten in.

How mad is CBS for not having this story in the tournament????

For anyone who says Syracuse has lost its luster, isn't a top 10 program. We just had a 6 minute segment on national morning show about our program that IS NOT going to the tournament.

We will be fine A) for as long as Jim coaches B) when he stops coaching. We are a very relevant place that people are interested in and will continue to be.

This CBS Morning show had several College Basketball related stories this morning.

Maybe because CBS has Selection Sunday coming up in almost 48 hours?

Maybe because CBS spent a boatload of money to televise the NCAA Tournament?

It wasn’t the fairy tale we wanted it to be. But it was pretty damn special. Yesterday Jimmy had the game of his life and he did it all for Buddy. To see Buddy leaping in the air for joy every time Jimmy scored was so moving. To know we were never going to see them playing again was so poignant.

Emotion is the lifeblood of sports. This year I have felt agony, disappointment, relief, happiness, excitement, and elation. The Boeheim family was a big part of all that. It’s a unique story and I’m glad I experienced it.
