Both the Bills and the Dolphins look like SU...

-If there is a move to be made, make it in regards to QB. If not, give Orton/EJ a shot with a real TE and better OC.

Those moves, I believe make us a playoff contender. However its a crapshoot, we're a playoff caliber team this year and are sitting at 5-5 in an extremely strong AFC.

You are not going not going to the playoffs with Kyle Orton as your QB. This year or next. He is old. He wanted to retire last year. He is at the end of the road. With EJ, he will need time and go through growing pains. Benching him this year was silly, go through them now or next year. Either way he needs real snaps in real games and Doug killed his 2014 season

Should we start EJ or try to win the next two games with Orton and let the chips fall where they may if we somehow end up 7-5?

The way Orton has been playing, I don't think EJ can be any worse. Orton looked fantastic in his first few games but these last two have been horrific. That overthrow to Watkins in the 4th was the icing on the cake after missing TD after TD against KC and sucking again vs Miami.

As Faulk, Deion, and Irvin said last night on NFL NETWORK after the game and they are 100% right, if Marrone goes back to EJ now he is writing his own pink slip. As he will lose the locker-room and come off as a coach who has no idea what he is doing with the constant QB shuffle.

EJ can and will be a lot worse than that. Orton had 1 really bad game. KC he wasn't good but he wasn't horrible either.

orton has to spike 5 passes into the ground every game because their line is so hopeless

No, he was awful against KC. He missed at least 3 TD's.

Our only realistic shot at making the Playoffs goes like this..

vs NYJ - Win
vs Cleveland - Win
at Denver - Loss
vs Green Bay - Win
at Oakland - Win
at NE - Win
10-6

Buffalo is not beating GB or NE

As a Pats fan I feel for the Bills fanbase as the poster above said you are going thru the post-Super Bowl XX era the Patriots went thru till Parcells took over in 1993.
Miami I think is slightly better than Buffalo because of Tannenhill. Both teams have good defenses but Miami actually has a QB who can make plays. Watkins is an AJ Green type WR but he isn't a Calvin Johnson type WR I wouldn't have made that trade but now that Buffalo is decent a mid first round pick mitigates the value of that pick.
The winner of last night had a chance to be the 6th seed in the playoffs. The expansion of the playoffs to 14 teams should help Buffalo starting next year.

Marrone's punt in the 4th was just nuts it is sad that the guy can prepare a team well but his managing skills for 4th down/punting are the opposite of his mentor Sean Payton but maybe he is cautious because his QBs have always sucked.

Probably not but Green Bay isn't a juggernaut. IF they somehow win that game then i'd give them a shot to end NE's chokehold over us in the last game of the season with Playoffs on the line.

However, Buffalo will probably lose to NY and Cleveland so it doesn't matter.

It's crazy how much of a difference a QB can make. Buffalo and Miami are so similar. Each has a top 3 defense, both have equal O-Lines, equal offensive weapons but Tannehill was clearly the difference last night vs Orton along with the coaching and officiating. None of that matters though if Buffalo is able to put up a TD instead of a FG as that would change the entire dynamic of the game like it did when Miami finally broke through.

I think Buffalo can win every game on their schedule. @Denver is tough but the Broncos are beatable if you can cover the Thomas boys. I knew NE's secondary could cover Demarius and Julius Thomas with Revis and Browner. If the Bills cover those guys and just let Sanders get his the Broncos are beatable plus I think the Buffalo D-Line with 4 guys can pressure Manning.

Green Bay is not that good on defense. Their run D is so bad Clay Matthews is playing MLB. The Jets went into Lambeau and gave the game plan to beat GB they are good because of Rodgers.

New England in the last game will be tough because NE hasn't lost a regular season home game against an AFC team with Brady as QB since the last game of the 2006 season when NE didn't play its starters after halftime. If NE is playing for a bye or HFA I can't see Buffalo winning but they the DL to cause NE problems.

Fans who root for other teams.. How do you feel about officiating in today's NFL? Buffalo has been completely raped this year. I can't think of one controversial call that has gone our way but I can think of about 2-3 game changers per game that have gone against us. Last night was no different with the Safety/PI/Personal Foul.

None of that matters if we can actually score TD's instead of FG's but in closely played games which teams with good defenses and mediocre offenses play in, those calls are game altering and happen far too frequently, especially against the team I root for.

every shot of orton on the bench just screamed loser to me. crucial passes weren't even close. jim kelly could still kick his ass.

p.s. i'm a dolphin fan.

Week 2 game vs Miami. Watkins got a TD when he fumbled at the 1 shouldn't have been a score

To your bigger point the Refs do a good job. I think there are far far FAR too many rules. But for the most part the Refs make the right calls

HAHA good one. Did they trade for Chip Kelly & Aaron Rodgers this morning?
They aren't going to win every game but this team has enough talent to beat any team on their schedule. If I had to bet I would say Buffalo ends up 8-8 and splits the last 6 games.
GB's defense is horrible. NE/DEN will be really hard to beat on the road. Buffalo has talent on the DL if they dominate a game the Bills could beat NE/DEN.
I wonder what the Bills would look like with Eli. Manning.

Ryan Tannehill only had 8 incomplete passes vs your defense last night. What do you think Aaron Rodgers is gonna do? I don't care how bad GB's defense is, Orton isn't winning a shoot-out with Aaron Rodgers
And Alex Smith got destroyed the week before. They had a bad game and still played good enough to win. You can attack Buffalo's QB and coaches but the defense is good enough to win a game against anybody.

I am a Patriots fan not a Bills fan. The Fins and Bills at finally catching up to the Patriots in terms of talent. I think outside of QB/HC I would take Buffalo's 2-53 over NE's roster.
Aaron Rodgers will not be able to audible at will when he plays Buffalo on the road. GB has 32nd(worst) run defense in the NFL. Teams will run the ball on them and control clock and shorten games. GB has beaten 1 decent team all year Miami on the road in the last second. Their other 5 wins are Min, Chi x2, Car, NYJ. They aren't as good as your making them out to be. Buffalo-GB in Buffalo will be a close game.

You're not a Bills fan if you think they do a good job. PI and holding are FAR to arbitrary. One hold or non-called hold here, a PI there and boom, game changed.

Which is why I give Buffalo a tinyyyyy shot a making a run because they should beat the NYJ and Cleveland at home (7-5). Lose to Denver on the road (7-6) and that scenario sets up a playoff atmosphere for Buffalo against GB (8-6) knowing the next game is against Oakland (9-6) which would set up a shot at NE for a potential playoff spot.

The Bills are not beating the Patriots in New England. This is like saying Syracuse will beat FSU at FSU. Just not happening. Patriots get better as the season goes on. Every. Single. Season. The Bills get worse. Every. Single. Season.

Bills will finish up 8-8 or 7-9.

Hes not a Bills fan, he hates Marrone thats why hes in this thread.

Always fun to read a 100 post thread about how my favorite college and favorite pro team basically suck. This is the most depressing thread for me ever! Mainly because I can't really argue the point

NFL officiating is bad across the board.

I know fans of a ton of teams, and every single one bitches about "game changing" calls each week. There is no conspiracy against the Bills. It just is what it is.

People are convinced that my favorite team is the refs darling. And yet we lost two games last year nearly directly attributable to calls/non-calls on the last play of games (the no-PI of a Panthers DB on Gronk in the end zone, and the phantom FG "help" call against vs the Jets).

I know you won't accept that the refs have it in for Buffalo, but they don't. They make bad calls everywhere, you just notice the ones that go against your team.
