Bowling offense vs Tennessee

I will when it's on your own 13 yard line, 20 min into a game, and a failed attempt means automatic points for the other team. They don't convert and there's a good chance the guys start giving up on the game.
i'll take my chances

but context matters. I doubt he'd try that against, say, Ball State at home. He was on the road against an SEC school. There was a small probability of winning that game, period. The only chance they had was going balls to the wall and hoping Tennessee started to crumble under the pressure.

The change in mindset that's coming is going to blow our fanbase away.

Risk averse teams that are afraid of blowing it lack the mental toughness to keep it together. That's how most football programs operate.

Teams that control their destiny don't worry about what happens if they miss on a 4th down once and a while. They don't fold when it happens.

i am pondering a 90,000 unabomber manifesto about how our new football offense is like our old basketball defense. punting is the same way. understand the probabilities and stay calm

teams don't want to go zone because they let the perfect be the enemy of the good. oh no you might come across a team of great shooters and it might bite you! boeheim doesn't care and they'll just outscore those teams if they have to. the zone offends tough guys as being less manly. boeheim accepts tradeoffs, gives up some shooting to have the long zone

teams don't want to go baylor because they let the perfect be the enemy of the good. oh no you might come across a team of great NFL talent and it might bite you! baylor doesn't care and they'll just outscore those teams if they have to. baylor offends tough guys as being less manly. baylor accepts tradeoffs, gives up some yards to have the explosive offense

When your coach makes moves that directly increase your opponents score it causes doubt and morale issues.

I just want to add to all of this, I'd still take this guy in a second.

If you punt you don't know that you will stop them either.

Driving the ball to the one yard line and then kicking a field goal has to cause doubt and morale issues too.

Cut ups of BG's offense vs an SEC defense. For all the complainers about the conservative coaching of Shafer. The 3:40 mark of the film is going to blow your mind. Really shows the difference when you have a offensively driven coach. I want this guy BAD

I don't want a coach to go for it 4th and 3 from the 13. I want them to win football games. I want the steak with the sizzle not just the sizzle of a cheap steak. With that said I still want Babers just not for the reason of taking silly chances.

I hear you but at the same time you have to trust a guy who wins 10 games in a season. He knows what he can and cannot do with his team. Would have been a 10 win year in 2014 if their QB didnt get hurt first game of season.

They play so fast. It looks like they snap the ball with 20-30 seconds left on the play clock 80% of the time.
