This is the right attitude. We're a private, northern school playing in a division with FSU, Clemson and Louisville.
SU *is* house money.
The dream would be to blend the two. This is like playing offense the way Shafer plays defense. I love it.
babers talks about year 2 as being when people really get it. but babers is on another planet. performances that will bug him will make us giddy
they will practice so fast that we'll get 2 years of practices in a year compared to what we've been doing
Boy oh boy I can imagine Lindsey Scott in this system too. Great fit.Johnson isn't a running QB like Dungey has been. He's a run if he has to type, but can have that success on the ground if the opportunity is presented.
they left a lot of plays on the field to with bad/off passes and drops. will our fans be able to recognize that players need to make plays or will they blame the coach?

I love the white dudes replying how young babers looks.
Guys, we look the same between 25-60. Then we all of the sudden turn into morgan freeman until were 110
have you seen that year 2 schedule?Going to be a rough year 1 and an exciting year 2 and I can't wait. We should have games and flashes of it in year 1. It is what we need to compete with Florida State and Clemson. Tennesse recruits similar athletes to those two programs and this offense shredded that defense.
Bowling Green is 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 games. That is awesome, especially since the odds makers have adjusted their lines to account for Bowling Green's explosive offense. So our opponents won't be favored by +14-17?
Those threads were so fun, discussing whether that was realistic or not.
Love it. I don't think the O itself is anything new. It's the execution and attention to detail that's remarkable.
One thing is apparent though -- we are going to have to improve our positional speed at the WR spot. Lots of vertical routes.
Ive been thinking about that, nothing in our WR screams fitting in to me.Love it. I don't think the O itself is anything new. It's the execution and attention to detail that's remarkable.

Erv and Strickland are going to have to learn to catch downfieldIve been thinking about that, nothing in our WR screams fitting in to me.
Ishmael, estime im not worried about but yeesh after that?
...on the road against a ranked SEC opponent who has you outgunned in talent and athleticism.I'm not sure I want to go for it on 4th down and 3, in the 2nd quarter, from my own 25 yard line, down only 11 points.
I will when it's on your own 13 yard line, 20 min into a game, and a failed attempt means automatic points for the other team. They don't convert and there's a good chance the guys start giving up on the game....on the road against a ranked SEC opponent who has you outgunned in talent and athleticism.
By going for it, he was telling his offense that he believed in them, and that he wasn't going to be intimidated by TN. People were fond of pointing out how Shafer ran a bunch of fakes with Dixon as evidence that he wasn't ultra conservative, but there's a difference. Pulling off a fake is counting on tricking the other team or catching them off guard. Lining up your offense and going for it is looking your offense in the eye and telling them you believe in them, and looking the other team in the eye and saying go ahead and stop us.
Sure, it might have failed. But Tennessee was going to put up a lot of points. As we have the benefit of seeing the entire game play out, that is exactly what happened. The only chance they had was to keep up pressure by scoring and hoping Tennessee would crack under the pressure of losing at home to a midmajor. Babers understood the need to keep up that pressure proactively, rather than "punting" (pun intended) the decision down the line and then hoping for an aburd collection of aberrations that would have to fall into line to be back in the game.
I'll go ahead and put myself on record right here - I will not criticize or second guess a decision to go for it on 4th down.
Id rather have balls dragging on the ground than them tied around my neckJeezuz H mother of hindu cows!! Look I like this guy but that wasn't 4th and 3 from the 25, it was his own 13. They don't convert and you're giving the other team 3 pts automatically. There's too conservative, i.e. Shafer but there's also too loose as in going for it on 4th and 3 from your own 13 only 20 min into a game. Call me a meathead if you want Millhouse, IDC, to me that's a meathead move. I'd like to see your probability chart or whatever you have for that call.
