Braswell

With his health issues, he'd be crazy to take that chance but you never know what these kids are thinking.

I don't think its chancey. I don't believe entering the portal commits you to anything and I don't think entering it and then not transferring would be an issue, unless maybe it was a returning starter.

Entering the portal is pretty much telling the program you're not coming back. I can't recall anyone who's entered the portal rescinding their name.

We've had LAX players enter the portal and return.

The portal just means you're exploring your options, and allows other coaches to contact you.

However, if coaches can't make contact until at least April 15 due to the new coronavirus rules, and players have concerns about visiting schools, a lot of players just may stay put this off season.

If the NCAA changes the rule and allows players to transfer without having to sit out, we'll have no problem getting players if we need them.

I really hope we don’t lose him. We’re gonna have like 7 players next year... if the season is even played.

Thanks for the clarification.

The portal hasn't existed long enough to have much of a track record with it. It's only existed since last year. The point of the portal is to allow players that are discontented to explore options. It isn't an unrescindable declaration that one is leaving, although I agree it is probably unlikely that one of these guys enters and then returns.

Maybe it’s just me but I can totally see QG and Marek playing 30+mpg each on the back line next year. If Q can develop a consistent outside shot it will work; and also make our rebounding very strong.

I want Towns but I think if we enter next year with this current crop of players that there won’t be “open minutes at the 3 for Braswell”

If you’re thinking about leaving, take a few weeks and think. If you enter the portal, I’m assuming you’re gone and looking to replace your scholarship

I heard around Christmas time he was planning on leaving. Hopefully that changed.
Me too.
Compared to the 3 guards in the portal, thought Braswell showed more potential to become a great player.
Hope he can get healthy, and to have opportunity to watch his development at SU.

I don’t think Braswell has the game or body to ever be able to play a bunch of minutes. He’s kind of an awkward athlete with an extremely thin body. Maybe the leg injuries hurt, but his lateral movements never have looked good to me. Good jumper and a decent shooter, but can he add much more? He’s like a really poor man’s Southerland at this point.

Hope he stays, but I’m not expecting him to ever be an impact player. Hope he proves that statement incorrect.

Braswell was gonna see some solid minutes but he was hurt from day 1 this yr
Cmon dude. Is it a coincidence that every player that we lose to the portal has some type of nagging injury? Maybe, just maybe, it gives JB a cover for why we won’t play certain guys.

I have my doubts. There were very good opportunities for Bras to play more minutes and fill a couple of needs on the team but JB stuck to what was working 40% of the time.

He should wait and find out what Elijah Hughes and Seth Towns are doing. The position might be wide open.
