About the portal, and coming back after you’re in it... If you enter, doesn’t your (old) team sorta become active in trying to replace you? What happens if they expend energy/resources in recruiting that spot... and you later decide you want to come back? If the team has offered the replacement, who gets the spot? Seems hard to return.

The school can terminate your aid in the semester following your entry into the transfer portal. While P5 scholarships are now four-year scholarships, the school can drop you if you enter he portal and either replace you for the next season or leave the scholarship open.

I hope our staff is working to keep Bras on our team. Can't teach 6 9" and a nice jump shot is extra. Good 4 yr player for us and right now we need a little stability and a couple late pick ups.

I was wondering more conceptually, about the ethics/protocol... Like, if say Carey enters the portal, and then the staff goes out looking for his replacement, they offer a grad PG, then Carey says, Psyche, i wanna come back... What do they do? Keep the known quantity, or are bridges burned by making it 'official' that you want to leave and straining the resources by necessitating the 'search' etc... I dunno. Just thinking 'allowed' during a dead period.

Wholeheartedly agree. I just don't see a kid that would play a big role, but that's ok. We need players, even if they play specific roles only.

And we'll certainly need shooting next year...

I don't think you can. If you enter the portal, that's like revoking your scholarship. You're a free agent. Doesn't mean someone takes you, or you wind up in a better place than the one you left.

Does anyone have any idea why this kid has been absolutely buried? He was the best player we had in the insurrection day abortion loss to pitt and has had other moments where he looked good as well. I have no idea why this kid did not play yesterday in a game where we were blown out either in garbage time to keep him sharp or better yet earlier in the game to see if he could make a difference.

Buddy played 35 minutes. Braswell didn’t deserve a shot at 5-8 of those minutes?

We've had LAX players enter the portal and return.

The portal just means you're exploring your options, and allows other coaches to contact you.

However, if coaches can't make contact until at least April 15 due to the new coronavirus rules, and players have concerns about visiting schools, a lot of players just may stay put this off season.

If the NCAA changes the rule and allows players to transfer without having to sit out, we'll have no problem getting players if we need them.

No it will be an exit off the SU Highway ... not an entrance.

There is no difference between the starters and the bench this season IMO.

That is why Boeheim deserves most of the blame.
