Brian Higgins

He will be missed. Hope he is able to financially make it work to remain in the Syracuse sports talk space moving forward. Following Syracuse sports won’t feel the same without his voice and takes.

Agree. Brian has done a fine job with his show. We need him to stay on the air.

Anyone know who the station manager is that we should be voicing our complaints and concerns to on this?

Feel for Brian but the demand just isn't there locally. The days of big time local sports radio is over for the most part save for the B10 and SEC mid level and above college towns/locations. Again not a shot at Brian but Syracuse especially is a tough listen as most of the callers are so uninformed it's laughable. You'll get more spending 20 mins on syracusefan a day then 5 hours of local sports talk radio.

This is a kick in the groin. I listen to Brian almost daily. Really liked his work. Very knowledgeable and had a way about him that he could deliver a show and keep you interested. Hopefully he lands on his feet covering SU Athletics. I'm going to miss listening to him.

I liked texting to him in the chat and his responses, very open and non combative as opposed to scibilia.

Even in a bigger market here in Kansas City with 2 stations, it's not that great. I used to love to listen, but hardly ever do now, even with my commute now twice as long as it used to be. You're right about the callers. When I used to listen regularly, I often found myself thinking "Did that really sound intelligent when you were on hold rehearsing what you were going to say?"

I know the business has moved to more podcasts, etc. but they’re just not my thing… maybe it’s an age/nostalgia thing as I remember doing it as a kid… but there’s something about hopping in the car after a game and listening to a call-in show immediately after a game.

Brian’s show was great, but loved him on postgame as well.
