Brohm postgame

Just listened to Dino’s presser. Huge difference in discussing the opponent. Dino is all class. Brohm is all ass.
1000% Bees. Dino is always all class. Always complimentary of the opponent, his staff and players. Jeff on the other hand comes across as the classless meat head he is.

I couldn’t get a sense for how much holding their OL got away with.

I remember one or two obvious holds but I didn’t see any repeat offenders like the dirtball from Louisville who was (finally!) ejected.

I agree the officials did a mostly good job letting receivers and DBs play. I also didn’t see a lot of pushing off from them because we played zone so often.

I think it’s harder for officials to flag OPI when a defense comes out in soft zone coverage rather than bump & run man.
The holds are admittedly harder to observe because O'Connell reads/releases quickly. The action takes the eye off the line play. Just my opinion, but if the holds weren't there, O'Connell would have been hurried more and sacked.

I agree with the soft zone analysis. On one of the key late plays, you can clearly see Jones, #15, shove GW, make his cut, catch an out pass at the line and put the Boilermakers in scoring position. Had he not done so, GW may have been in position to break up the pass or make a play on the ball.
