Bryan Blair officially hired as New Syracuse AD

40ish SU alum who covers sports in Philly. I think he may have been a student manager at some point during the Devendorf years as he is slightly behind
me. That said I think he’s way off here.
Yeah he probably got the info from Gerry’s agent to pump up the actual offers GMAC may get

If he can come up with new ways to raise money for women's bball that would be a such a win for us. I feel that our team is on the cusp of really making a run but needs more financials to make the crossover. For the life of me I don't understand why there hasn't been a push to generate revenue during the game like they do at the Syracuse Mets games. Maybe there is a reason they can't do it according to NCAA rules but I have a few ideas

1. run a fifty/fifty every game, might have to bring back the ATMs for this one
2. silent auction items setup in the 44
3. sell tickets for a banquet in the Hidden Level held before the games during ACC play OR
4. sell a season pass for Hidden Level with cash bar and better food options

I never heard of Jason Dumas and he doesn’t even have a blue checkmark.
He had a checkmark back when checkmarks meant something. Once they went to the pay thing, I think he said screw that- but could be wrong.

Don’t get me wrong this is way better than Lyke, but with conference realignment right around the corner, I’m not sure the AD from Toledo is going to be the best person to represent us in those discussions. I would have rather had someone that is in a current position of more power/influence. Maybe we can get ADJW to stay on as a special consultant to the AD.

This will b unpopular but has this guy negotiated a major media rights deal? That’s where most revenue comes from.
Nothing against his age per se. I was a CEO of 10M company at age 36. But there is wisdom in experience in the modern college landscape. Might work out. Or we might be left playing in the MAC when the next shakeout comes.

Aren't major media rights deals negotiated by the conference?

Since Bryan Blair arrived in Toledo, basketball has had the same coach and records of:

22-23 27-8
23-24 20-12
24-25 18-15
25-26 17-14

While correlation is not causation, Toledo's recent basketball decline has been overseen by Bryan Blair.

Things that make you say, "hmmm."

Did he hire the "same coach"?

That’s the mean. The median is different. It would be the “middle” number. Because this is an even number data set of four, you average the second and third.

(40 + 44)/2, or 42

Your conference does that.

We're not Notre Dame football.

Not saying he's right here, but Jason usually knows what he's talking about. Real good dude. Cuse grad. One of the few around here who has pounded drinks with me in both Alaska and NYC.
And lived?
