Brycen Goodine to Oklahoma

100% correct, and there was mutual interest.

But Oklahoma came through with a huge bag.

Could have used the shooting this season. Oh well.
Oklahoma got some last minute offseason money from Trae Young, i believe.

Oklahoma on paper was going to be bad heading into this season but Fears has significantly outperformed his preseason expectations.

I liked Brycen as a freshman here and thought he had potential. But It’s not like he’s been killing it this season. He averages 8.3 ppg and that’s obviously been boosted by his 34 point game. It looks like he’s only scored in double figures in 3 previous games. He has proven to be a good 3 point shooter.

Technically, one could play a long time if he is to earn a bachelor, masters, phD, MBA etc...someone could spend 15 years playing basketball if NIL is there you don't worry about the athletic scholarship if NIL covers it, one could play as long as one wants as a walkon with NIL.

Well you only are suppose to have eligibility for 4 years but he had an extra year from his covid year and i think one medical red shirt year.

I'm not surprised he shot 9 for 11 from 3. When he was a freshman at SU he won the preseason 3-point shooting contest over Girard and BuddyB. I think he made 13 of 15 or something like that.

To clarify, I'm not taking a shot at Brycen. He's operating within the rules. I just think someone going to four different schools is so far outside the realistic parameters of what is supposed to be a student-athlete. But, that's where we are right now.
It's crazy but my wife, although not a student athlete, but because of family and financial issues, went to 4 schools in 4 years and actually got her degree-Vermont, Clinton County Community College, West Liberty State College in WV and finally graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh. I don't know how it did not take her longer but she did it.

Curious - do you know what Oklahoma offered in NIL?

He’s also 37.

I always liked him as a recruit. You could tell he wasn't going to be a guy who would come in and kill it as a freshman, but he can shoot and has athleticism too. If he had stayed and developed he would be better right now than he is after transferring to Providence and then to lower level basketball for a few years. He might not have played much until his senior year though and not many kids are willing to sign up for that.

At this point it would probably be more efficient to list the schools that Brycen hasn’t played for.
