Buddy now #2 while JG3 is #10 all-time 3 pointers made

Seen Craig Forth do that a few times at Archbald too..

Keith Bullock almost killed someone that tried to take a charge against him in what was, if I remember correctly, an intramural basketball game.

Archbold saw some wild things, man.

I am convinced Elvir probably said some wild stuff to JB about he could be hitting shots from 30 feet.

No knock against anyone else, but watching Shumpert shoot pre-game was incredible. He was so fluid and would just nail every shot in rhythm.

When he shot warming up, it looked like he was born to shoot threes.

Not saying he was the best at it or had perfect form, but it looked so natural and effortless.

So cool story. I spent a summer in Naples, FL living at a family members condo. It was Shumps Junior year. Playing pickup ball one day a local coach who brought his 8th grade son to play many days was taking to me and was talking about this kid in Pensacola who was a dead eye shooter.

His family had a house there and offered to take a few of us he had gotten to know up to see a Fort Walton game. Got to watch Shump play and then when Cuse was his choice I was so stoked. Was telling all my buddies and family who were cuse fans that this kid from Florida is the real deal even though there wasn't a ton of fanfare about him.

He was so freaking good in HS- kinda like with Gerry his teams were just dominant.

Yep, there are a million teams I wish we could have just picked up Shumpert and put him on. There are a number of guys like that, but Shump is definitely one of them.

A guy that prob maxes out at like third team all conference in a really competitive conference, but is just such a key cog.

Yep. It was such a waste that MeShaun was such a head case as well.

Shump had such a cool looking shot too. Always under control, kinda funky looking but pure.

I legit remember the scuttlebutt about him potentially being an NBA draft pick.

I remember thinking how outrageous that was. Also, being a student at the time that he was at Cuse, kind of knew how his tenure at Cuse was going to end.

When I created this post I didn’t know it was going to have me looking up some DeShaun character and the things he did during his time here. Judging by the articles and everyone’s stories, what an absolute nut bag! I didn’t follow the team back then as closely as I do now, so thank you guys for that! Hahahahaha

Deshaun was the one who punched out Otto the mascot at Faegan’s?

No joke, during a pre-season game, I one time saw Elvir Ovcina dribbling the ball down on a 2 on 1 break as time was running down, we were down by one, and Elvir stopped at the arc and jacked a three and missed.

As infuriating as it was, it was a thing of beauty to watch Elvir have that type of chutzpah to throw that three up when we just needed two.

If that was in the regular season, I have no doubt JB would have had him killed.

Marathon Oil??

It was Kondrad's, but yes.

Just so I'm being as fair as possible, he was acquitted... but I'll leave my own thoughts out as to his guilt or not.

Original story.

Acquitted.
Not only was he acquitted, but it appears someone else admitted under oath that they had been the one that had done it…….or am I reading that wrong?

Not what the attachment says which only references his being charged. Wouldn’t be unusual for a plea to have the charges dismissed if he stayed out of trouble for say 6 months.
Outright acquittal would require a trial.

Wasn’t Otto a female?

The one that got struck, yes.

Konrad's during any big bar night or happy hour, would have been packed, that place was tiny.

I know when it was 44s, it got a lot of hype, but I did not like that bar at all.

Yep

Testimony by Mia Ballard, a 19-year-old Syracuse student, appeared to turn the case in Williams' favor. During questioning Tuesday, she said she spent the day with Williams and his girlfriend and accompanied them to Konrad's, the bar where the brawl erupted.

Ballard said the trio didn't have anything to drink before going out around midnight. Once inside the bar, she said Williams left the group for about five minutes and began arguing with Wilcox before rejoining them in the crowded bar.

''He told us she was trying to fight him,'' Ballard said. ''I walked over to her and punched her in the face.''

If it were a regular season game Elvir probably would have been watching in that circumstance.
If he wasn't in Georgia visiting his friends.

That is the point I was making in a different thread. Now however, the composition of the team has changed drastically to a shooters team. I think Gerry has had a lot of influence on that.

Oh good lord - you just spammed with opinions and zero data. Funny how you claimed you had said all you were going to in that same thread and here we are.

Someone provided data that objectively and correctly challenged your hip shot. It happens.

Also not intended as a knock, probably not the kindest thing to add to this type of thread, but if this list shows anything it's that SU isn't exactly known for excellence in shooting. Tyus Battle and Lawrence Moten are two of my all-time favorites. Shooters they were not.
Thought the exact same thing. :)

I didn't really feel like looking up data for something that is so patently obvious, but then Cstate started this thread which corroborated my assertion. Cole would be way up that list as well if he had several years on the team.

Well the data told a different story- one that has absolutely nothing to do with this thread. Another hip shot, another miss.

A top 10 list has absolutely zero corroboration with you assertion.

FYI- 3 guys from that 16-17 team are in the top 10 in 3pt Fg pct with 100 attempts being the minimum.

Buddy is 15th on the list with not one year having as good a pct as either Gillon, White or Lydon.

Jimmy would be 18th behind Hop and Cole drops in 13th.

Joe's career averages fall in around 27th. If he finishes the season where he is, he will move up. He is having a good year.

16-17 lived by the 3 and the data clearly shows it was the best 3pt shooting team and collection of shooters we have had since 09-10.

09-10 that had 4 players over 38 pct and 3 over 40 pct. That was one of our best shooting teams and offensive teams in the last 30 years.

Once again- math matters.

I think Shumpert had a season in Italy where he shot like 70% from three.

I don't think it was a high level league, but still... geez.
