Buffalo Bills 2025 Thread

I guess you’d have to speculate there were differing opinions on how to move forward with the staff between McDermott and Beane and Beane won.

Heard Dan Mullen is a done deal. Numerous fans on the top of thruway over passes have reported his imminent arrival

Penn State connections (Pegula)
Matt Campbell
James Franklin
I don't see it but whatever.

I think it's more just players & roster construction.

Q: Is this a SB roster?
BB: Yes
SM: I love these guys

I mean Lol. Obviously McD was in the not happy with the WR camp, the way he talked up Jacobi Meyers & Micole Hardman's speed.

I had always assumed that McD sorta ran the show or at least won the tiebreakers but I guess not.

its not a catch though because he is going to the ground and must maintain possession. if he simply dropped the ball after his knee hits, nobody would have said anything. the fact the other dude ends up with the ball is what makes it confusing.

Are you familiar with the rule "The ground cannot cause a fumble"?
Should be the same on a pass reception, shouldn't it?

Unreal, Beane should instruct a LinkedIn course on interoffice politics. Roster sucks.
If the roster sucked they wouldn’t be a couple of plays from the conference championship game without some key pieces.

McDermott needed to go but they should’ve fired Beane first.

Pegula couldn’t run it back with the same leadership in year one of the new stadium after this season. Kudos to him for understanding that and pulling the trigger.

Problem is you’re less likely to get an established, capable coach willing to just accept Brandon Beane’s roster and drafting track record.

I would’ve canned Beane. And if I couldn’t get an established HC/GM combo I would’ve hired a GM, kept McDermott for a transitional year (SB or bust) and let the new GM find his guy.

Doesn’t make a ton of sense to me to keep Beane and let him hire “his guy” with his crap roster. Unless they’re gonna Doug Whaley him after the draft.

Nothing would surprise me in Pegulaville.

I feel like the Bills are gonna offer the Steelers a 1st for Tomlin
That would be a death penalty worthy offense. Can’t give up for a WR but can for a washed coach

You'd be hard pressed to find a serious analyst or personnel guy put their 2-53 (non QB) anywhere near top 10. What has Beane done well besides strike gold at QB? As Greg Rosenthal points out, the best offseason was before he was even there: White & Milano in the draft, Poyer/Hyde as FAs.
OK the OL is good, that's something. I don't get how there's never any injuries there but the D is always mangled.

Whoever the hire is the defense is very likely to step
back. I don’t think people have any idea at the job McDermott did with some very average talent on that side of the ball.
He definitely made chicken salad this year. Hopefully that's offset by a normal amount of injuries next year for the first time since idk, 2022?

Daboll is a hard no. He ran a Mickey Mouse operation in NY. It would be a huge drop off.
How do I give a triple like?

The only way Daboll became a HC in the NFL is because of Josh Allen's greatness, which had nothing to do with Daboll. He stunk as the NYG HC.

I've said this many times...the best job in sports is GM. Far less scrutiny than coaching and endless rope from ownership to screw things up. Every time things get hot, fire the coach and remove the flame from under your butt. It's genius!
