Buffalo Bills 2025 Thread

I don't mind thinking outside the box, but come on?????

Rivers has actually been long sought after to join a coaching staff since he retired and has allegedly turned down multiple offers because he wanted to coach his son. Certainly don't think he's ready for a HC job at this level but no issue with the interview, Buffalo should be reaching out far and wide, this is way to important of a hire to not interview anyone your remotely interested in.

Agree with a lot of your points. I was mainly focusing on the HC aspect of it. Everyone has to start somewhere and I'd have no problem with him on the staff. But I'd just prefer the Bills HC not to be his first NFL coaching job. But I do like they are thinking about different possibilities that might be outside the box.

I am a first possession always person. By the way the Bears only got 1 possession as well. At this point I believe maximizing your possessions is more important. So is playing with the lead like it's a regular game.
Why wouldn’t you want two shots at it vs 1?

Here are the basic possibilities:
Receive no score ..
Receive score FG.
Receive score TD

if your opponent matches you on any of these outcomes, you get another possession only needing a FG to end the game. Your opponent gets no such second shot unless you score 0 again.

The only way you don’t get a second shot by receiving is if they outperform you. I’d rather be in a situation where I get a massive advantage just by matching your performance rather than having to outperform you.

Now it does get a little murky if you score a TD and kick the XP and then they score a TD and can chose to go for 1 or 2. This is where it gets very team specific. As a bills fan, I have no faith in our ability to go for 2 and score so that removes that potential advantage of receiving

Hell no!

I have to admit, I don’t hate it. How much of his crappiness was due to tying himself to Tua? That was a bad move but he won’t have that problem here .

Andy Reid and Bill B. Two “recycled” coaches. Sometimes you learn by being a head coach elsewhere. I don’t necessarily want a newbie who is going to have to learn from his mistakes while on our time. Let him have learned them somewhere else first.

I really don't care one way or another.

He absolutely has the right to act in a manner that he feels is best for the team he owns.

My point was that the whole interview and the way he carried himself was totally bizarre.
No problem firing McD but the reason pegula gave for the firing was because players were sad in the locker room after the game. Thats some reason

yes and the options on D have changed

old way was kick thru the end zone. Offense at the 20 needing probably 40-45 yds to score. You stop them and get the ball back 20-30 yd line

new kick off rules they get the ball on avg at the 35. you stop them and get the ball 10-20 yd line. Now you need 40-60 yds to score.

The only advantage is that if they do score you have that extra down to go for any first down you need and don't need to ever play safe.

How to factor in refs suddenly calling PI is an unknown.

Coaches are more likely to go for it from their own 40-50 anyway now, so I think its probably a better thing to start at the 35 and force the other team with the long field if you fail vs kicking.

Boom. This would be a great hire for the Bills. Gotta be a tad concerned he ends up taking the starting job at QB as well - but Allen still should have enough the tank to hold him off. Maybe.

You've posted about 20 straight negative posts. A billionaire fired a millionaire that coached a bunch of other millionaires for our entertainment. There's a lot of things going on in the world to get worked up for days about and this isn't really one of them.
This is a buffalo bills message board. The big news surrounding the bills is the recent coach firing and the clown show that followed culminating in the interviewing of Rivers for the HC position . This idea that I can’t post about these things yet compartmentalize its relative importance compared to things such as war, poverty, civil rights violations , is laughable . Should I post about the wonders of ayahuasca here? A recurrent theme of your posts involves critiquing how you perceive others should feel about things. As if you are some above the fray gate keeper of perspective. It’s quite weird .
