They have not. They have made the playoffs 6 straight years, gone to two AFC Championships. If you haven't noticed there is a team over in Kansas City that has been pretty damn good. They aren't an easy out clearly. Getting to and winning a super bowl is extremely difficult and like I said KC/ Mahomes are who they are. Frustrating? sure, wasting his prime? I think is crazy talk.

I believe Shakir should be alright by the first game as well and hold outs do happen, there is a cap to deal with this isn't baseball.

I'm just salty about 13 seconds and believing that was the best chance they will have had to win a Super Bowl, and the coaching staff blew it.

Understood, see your point there. Still would have had to beat Cinci which you never know I guess but that was a blown opportunity for sure. I was thinking more the whole body of work over the past 7 years has been overall pretty damn good. Not easy to get to the Super Bowl let alone win it.

In addition, Mahomes, Burrow, Lamar and Josh are all unbelievable talents at QB and only one can get to the Super Bowl every year.

As devastating as the 13 seconds was as IB noted it's hard to know what would have happened vs Cincy and then the Rams. I'd like to think they would have won it all but both games would have been extremely difficult to say the least.

I know the Bengals went into Arrowhead and beat the Chiefs the next week, but give me a home AFC championship game against a second year QB in the playoffs for the first time any day of the week and then the Super Bowl game against LA would've been a toss-up at worst.

Could just be vibes and the way the SB went, but I think this is the year someone gets out of the AFC that is not KC and the Bills have as good a shot as anyone. Now it could be Baltimore or Cincinnati because I am high on both, but I don't think KC even wins the west. Denver and LA are both ascending teams.

Agreed on Baltimore, I'm not that high on Cincy but they have shown they can make a run. I'll believe it when I see it on KC not winning the West but Denver will be as big of a challenge they have faced yet

If the Bengals have just a top 25 defense they will win 12 games. They just need to not be horrible on that side of the ball.

Mahomes hasn’t been better than average in 3 seasons. Is that a trend? If it is at some point it will catch up to them.
 
Dane Jackson is definitely getting cut. You wonder if the Bills reach out to Benford, the cb depth right now (and safety) is god awful.
 
Better hope no starters get injured (obviously bound to happen) because these backups are god awful.

Again McDermott is playing a vanilla D with 3rd and 4th string guys but man some resistance would be nice. Zero pass rush and zero secondary depth is not a winning game plan for the 2nd and 3rd stringers.
 
White and Trubisky making the case for Buffalo to revamp the QB room next year, good lord

Thing is., their normal defense is vanilla. They were quite bad last year at total first downs alllowed and defensive third down conversions . They relied on and did force turnovers . But that is not a sticky trait year to year
