Buffalo Bills 2025 Thread

McCord could throw rear shoulder all day to Keon Coleman
He’d have to since Coleman can’t separate on a sloth

I know the Bengals went into Arrowhead and beat the Chiefs the next week, but give me a home AFC championship game against a second year QB in the playoffs for the first time any day of the week and then the Super Bowl game against LA would've been a toss-up at worst.
Cincy whooped our ass in our place in the playoffs not soon thereafter. It would have been a coin flip at best

You can't compare that Bills team to the one that lost to Cincy in the playoffs in Buffalo less than a month after Hamlin died on the field, the same season as the mass shooting in Buffalo, the same season the pre-winter storm killed 41 people, the same season Josh ended his relationship with his GF of 6 years, the same season that Diggs drama kicked into high gear. That year's team was completely done by the time the playoffs had started and they could have played that Bengals teams 100 times and won maybe 10 of them.

The Bills D that lost to the Chiefs that other year could actually generate a pass rush and had good safeties... my hunch is they would have pressured Burrows into a lot of mistakes and won the AFC title game,

Josh still has a lot of years left, I'm going to keep enjoying them until he's no longer suiting up.

Still think this regime will get it done

They are doing so many things right.

The Bengals were a more well rounded team when they came in Jan 2023, it would've been a tough game still but I do think the Bills beat them if they met up the year before

The fake web got me. I'm so glad I was wrong.
I mean it’s pretty low for them to say a 100 year old guy died when he didn’t .. it’s like saying fat guy ate too many fries and choked to death

Our safety play is going to single-handedly derail all hopes and dreams
Just like last year… Beane and McD have done an amazing job building a top 3 franchise, but a lot of it is they got lucky in finding a generational talent at the most important position. Their blind spots can fit multiple 18 wheelers.

Their safeties stunk last year and the only plan to fix it was…. A 5th round DB they will convert to safety? Meanwhile it seems Landon Jackson will be a healthy scratch on game days… there was no safeties available? Hamlin stinks, Jackson stinks and I think Rapp, beyond the occasional big hit also stinks.

Every year Milano gets hurt for the year… Bernard misses multiple games and the back up is Buffalo Joe and random other below replacement level players?

I don’t even want to talk about the receivers the past few years.

At some point I think it’s fair to challenge Beane’s talent evaluation

safety just should not be that difficult a position to fill with competent level talent. Im not talking about a star or stars, but just solid average to slightly above average level talent . It’s not like finding a game wrecking lineman or franchise left tackle.

Hell a lot of guys who had solid careers as safeties were failed corners. They have to be able to do better than what we have now. Slow and small. If you are going to be slow , at least be big. If you are going to be small at least be fast.

I’m not thrilled about receiver either but Allen and Cook can at least partially compensate for that . We have no individual talents on the D side that can mask the safety issue, unless you think Bosa is going to somehow stay healthy and be at peak powers (doubt it). Ed Oliver shows up when he wants .. Rousseau is just OK.

I think they have done a decent job at LB. They have Williams and Shaq Thompson that's a pretty good back up up unit. Problem is as you noted this unit has been plagued by injuries. In the cap era though it's hard to have good depth across the board. The Ulofoshio pick isn't looking so hot though Buffalo has hit on a number of mid round picks he does not appear to be one of them.

Safety I couldn't agree more, after last year Buffalo needed either a solid veteran pick up or to at least address it in the draft in a reasonable capacity. Bringing back Hamlin made little sense as he really struggled in extended time last year. Rapp is a good #2 but were playing him as a lead Safety and he also has injury issues. I'm surprised they haven't tried to bring in someone else, even Poyer at this point would probably be an upgrade over everyone but Rapp. We need Bishop to stay healthy and be at least a league average player.

Beane has a mixed track record. He's been an unreal finder of talent late in drafts but has also missed badly on some 2nd and 3rd round selections and the mid rounds have been a mixed bag. DL despite Russeau and Ed has at time really been a struggle no matter how much $$ we throw at it. Though I have to say the two DT's we got this year have looked impressive. If those guys pan out were in a real good spot moving forward.

WR is also mixed. Shakir has been outstanding but other then Coleman we have rarely addressed the position in the draft which is odd to say the least. You keep waiting for the year Buffalo takes 2 WR in the top 3 or 4 rounds and we simply don't do it. Now we did go and get Kincaid, hopefully fully healthy he shows up this year.

Everybody buck up. We're bringing home the Lombardi.

Beane is one of the best GM's in the NFL. Overall the Bills have a few holes, but that's what the cap does. We are talking about a franchise that has had a regular season point differential of at least 125 five years in a row where 3 of those seasons ended against KC in games that were decided on less than a handful of plays. As long as Allen is healthy they will win the division, 11-13 games, and be in the hunt in the AFC. The season will be decided by how they perform in January.

agreed. Safety is obviously the biggest concern from a health and overall talent perspective but they will figure it out, Rapp and Bishop playing considerable time without getting hurt would be nice. The Bills seem to like Rapp a lot more than the fans do. Bishop hasn't been healthy enough for any significant period of time to really know much.

That said, it should come down to a game or two in January... AGAIN

Not a lot of surprises in the cutdown. Shavers finally makes the initial 53 man roster.

Dane Jackson cut so you assume Tre will be OK for game 1

Jordan Phillips and Poyer signed to the PS. Will be interesting to see if either get called up, especially Poyer or if he will have the same role as Hyde last year.

The Secondary depth chart is amazing... if you are an opposing QB.

If the Bills don't get pressure upfront they are going to give up some big plays.

As long as Poyer doesn't cheap shots his new teammates during practice.
