Can be from any current conference and does not need to include Syracuse. Go based off history, rivalries, tradition, financial draw, etc

For example:
Miami, Florida State, Florida, Georgia, Bama, Ole Miss, Clemson, LSU, Texas, Oklahoma

I'll do it along with primary rivalries (in no order)

Notre Dame-USC
Ohio State-Michigan
Oklahoma-Nebraska
Bama-LSU
FSU-Miami

I would also consider Penn State (only team located in the Northeast). Could sub them out for FSU. Of the 10 teams with the most Titles in the poll era, only Minnesota and Texas are left out from the above. I think Texas is overrated as a program. Maybe they can be swapped with FSU, which adds the state to my conference.

I suppose LSU would be next on my cut list after FSU. I think the other 8 are locks.

I think it is hard to put anyone else in.

Rutgers
Nova
Penn State

Duke
UNC

It's basically an alternate reality Big East that had admitted Penn State and expelled the basketball-only schools instead of the other way around. I guess Nova has to move up to FBS and Duke and UNC are because the ACC died instead of the Big East.

All games are in reasonable driving distance for everybody and all games have at least some level of rivalry.

In today's world, the only 10 team league that could be viable as Major from TV deals would require having ND, Texas, LSU, Bama, Florida, Georgia, Ohio ST, Michigan, Penn St, SC.

Syracuse
West Virginia
Pittsburgh
Penn St.
UConn
Louisville
Miami
Virginia Tech
Boston College
Notre Dame

Mine has the old Big East football conference as it's base. Then I added other teams I've loved to hate. UConn had to be there, so I could have one old Big East basketball rival that I truly hate and all the other options don't have football. We've also had good games in both sports against Louisville and Notre Dame.
