Bye Bye Boatright.

The NCAA was pretty nice to uconn come last march even after all the sanctions that they got away with. Just saying.

They played a freshmen kentucky team they were a bad matcup for earlier in the year, and a not so good arizona, ASU and Butler team on the way to the title. And Cincy on top of that.
Had we got those five teams I liked our chances 33% more then MU Carolina and OSU.

We got MU probably the worst defensive matchup for us in the big east.

You're complaining about MU in the 2nd round? Seriously?? That was a 3 vs. an 11 seed. MU wasn't even sure they were going to make the tourney losing 3 of their last 5.

UConn's 2nd round: "And Cincy on top of that"??? Cincy won 11 games in the BE and were a 6 seed.

You can replace ASU with #2 seed SDSU that UCONN beat in the Sweet 16. UCONN (3) could have played Duke (1) instead of Arizona (5) in the Elite 8, but they didn't get the job done vs. Zona.

"Had we got those five teams I liked our chances 33% more then MU Carolina and OSU"...Ummm...KY beat OSU and Carolina on their way to the semi's where they lost to UCONN.

Many expected KU, Pitt or FL in the finals from the other side of the tourney, Butler survived. You play whom ever advances.

Cheatin' and luck. Everytime I read it I substitute "rationalizing looking up uconn's 3 NC."

I imagine that when your head coach is a scumbag with no code of ethics it's easier to get what you want.

Accusing Syracuse fans of "rationalizing" anything considering laptopgate, Beltway Ballers, Nate Miles, negative recruiting Donyell Marshall etc etc etc is the height of irony.

Yep. The "game" is mostly clean and Calhoun's behavior has given him a significant recruiting advantage. He just brings in all the studs with dirty $ and puts his feet up. Come on man. cuse has brought in 18 burger aa's vs. uconn's 10. It's not the end all be all but it is a barometer for the type of talent Calhoun has built UC basketball with. compare it to other comparable winning programs in the era and the man has done more with less. You don't have to like him. His methods are crass and what he would call tough love many would call bullying. But to act like his accomplishments were bought with cheating is sour grapes.

For every Rudy Gay, there is an Emeka Okafor.

Wasn't Rudy Gay the guy you got by playing the AAU team that didn't have uniforms? I kid.

"The NCAA sucks"

How come it only happens to UConn then? Other than Sampson at IU, most of the recent, big-name recruiting violations (or eligibility issues) have been involved with UConn.

Calhoun never does it by the book, and it's starting to catch up to him.

The number of NCAA eligibility issues goes far beyond UConn. Off quick Google search:
1) UK -Enes Kanter
2) WVU - Dennis K (the Turk)
3) Providence - PG this year (forget his name) Kiwi Gardner?
4) ASU - Jahii Carson
5) Kansas Ben McLemore, Jamari Traylor and Braedan Anderson
6) St Johns - Amir Garrett, JaKarr Sampson and Norvel Pelle
7) OSU - LaQuinton Ross
8) Seton Hall - Kevin Johnson
9) Towson - Kelvin Amayo
10) Misssissippi State University - Kristers Zeidaks
11) UL - Kevin Ware
12) Yale - Jack Langer
etc.

Now most of those were academic eligibility issues which the schools should have known about. Boatright's issue (if it truly predates UConn) isn't something UConn should have known about.

As for penalties announced since 2009 (when the UConn story broke):
1) UT -Pearl BBQ
2) Oklahoma
3) Georgia Tech
4) Arizona
5) Miami (possible? Don't know where this one went)

In fact, one of the reasons the UConn story got so much play was 1) it was announced while UConn was in the the Final Four and 2) it's sanctions were announced when UConn was in a championship year. If UConn was as "good" as the teams listed above it wouldn't be as big a story. The fact you know so much about it probably amounts to it being about UConn and a conference rival (currently at least).

The Academic Progress Rate issue is another story and not recruiting involved nor really an eligibility issue.

No sour grapes. Just stating facts.

Everyone but the uconnbots get that Calhoun is a cheating douche. I guess he's just "misunderstood?"
