i was worried we were a day late and a dollar short. ;)
We may have a been a day late, but not a dollar short.
I posted before Freeman committed that I prefer this guy. No glaring question marks. Defensive POY means something. He won't get pushed around. He has a growing offensive game that will continue to grow under AO. I am happy with our C position and if Mali guy gives us anything there, will be very happy. The question of how good we can be is our Starting PG and how good our Euro guy will be.

I'm a big fan of this addition and I'm glad that G-Mac and staff were able to move quickly after losing Freeman to Auburn. But this is certainly a take... we weren't focused on Estrella because he was a name we knew. He was one of the top centers in the portal, and was paid as such.

Hopefully Wilson makes a strong impact for us and can make the jump to P5 basketball smoothly. Especially since the other big men we currently have bring more questions than answers. If Wilson has the same impact that someone like Estrella will have next year, then G-Mac found a diamond in the rough. Give me Folefac and another PG and we can call it an offseason.

It isn't a take -- at all.

We got a productive player for a fraction of the cost as Estrella. He's probably better than Estrella defensively. Good evaluation from our staff. We only have so much to spend.

I like his big body. He’s not going to be pushed around. We need at least one player like that.

He's kind of a Folefac replacement. A bit undersized, but certainly thick. Folefac showed better footwork in the post on offense. We need bodies, but I'm not even sure this guy is the starter.

Why do we have to know in April who the starter is? We have 3 guys now who can play at center. Someone will play above expectations, someone will play below expectations, and the third will either deal with an injury or a lack of minutes.

My only concern for this pickup is that this another player who is more valuable on the defensive end. By my count, we have 3-4 offensive players on this team and they all play the same position (SG). Where is the rest of the offense going to come from?

Undersized? He's 255 and has a 7 foot 6 inch wingspan. Sometimes I really don't understand the hills you try to die on...
