Class of 2023 C Luke Wilson (GA) TRANSFERRING TO SYRACUSE (4/21/26)

Again with the absolutes. You have no idea how much money he will have in the future. I’d argue this may be the least amount of money he has to work with if we make the tournament. Success on the court will bolster donations. This year the donations are for the potential, if he wins the money will only grow.

He has to do well this year, don't you agree?
Right now - NCAA tournament - yes or no?

Right, but/and unless there is legislation, each year will require more money just to reach parity with the previous. The equation will be: how much winning will be required to boost the NIL bucket? Just getting into the field will probably still be seen as a bare minimum and might not move the needle much. How far do we have to go?

Yes, I like this roster better than last years. I’m high on 3M, Tobiason, and Wilson. I like the makeup of the team and I think we will be a really strong defensive team. Last year’s team had talent, but was poorly coached and quite frankly the sum of the parts were lesser. This new roster has size, length, and multiple highly rated defenders. I would have preferred one guy who shot a higher 3%, but I think there is enough offense there. So yeah, if I had to bet my house on it I believe we will be an NCAA tournament team.

Let me rephrase that:

"How many UNDERSIZED guys can you have at the same position?"

I'm obviously concerned about our big man rotation and interior defense.

He has stocked the cupboard at the 2/3.
Not sure if the UNDERSIZED statement is in reference to Luke Wilson's 6'9" height but here is a reminder of some pretty solid 5's we have had here at that height (or shorter)

Otis Hill
Etan Thomas
Jeremy McNeil
AO
Big Rick
Rakeem Christmas

No, he’s not. He’s anywhere from the 3rd to 5th best portal center in the ACC according to experts. Some schools don’t even have a center. He’s 40 pounds heavier and 2-3 inches taller than Folefac.

You looked at his video clips at App State, right?
He's shorter than pretty much every other center he played against.

Do you think Luke Wilson is better than Devin Williams or Owen Freeman? Is he as tall as either one of them?

One’s a 5 the other is a 4.

They look like pretty much the same kind of player on film.
Both are low post scorers, thick, and a bit undersized.
What makes them look diffrent to you?
They both are limited to being low post scorers.
Neither one makes a three in any of the film I've seen, or even a midrange shot.

I do. I’m not worried about his height, he has enough length and big enough body to play center in the ACC. You’re making a ridiculous argument. There have been plenty of guys who performed at a high level at his height.

I can’t possibly know the answer to that. Only time will tell, but I can’t imagine we would have less money if he succeeds this year. What the NIL market does going forward, I have no idea. It could regress, or it could continue down this ridiculous path. I think at some point there will be some guard rails implemented because I don’t see the current system as sustainable.

YES to me thinking he is better than Owen Freeman.
