Granted what Houston does best is lock teams down. Would be really encouraging for Red’s long term prospect as our coach if we have a tough nosed defensive identity next year (not holding my breath even though I think Kyle and White are nice pieces toward that end).

Agree that Houston's greatest strength is their defense. My comment was related specifically to Houston on the offensive end. They are able to get open looks within their offense (although admittedly gets bogged down at times) without any of their bigs really being an outside shooting threat. The large majority of the shots taken by the 3 bigs that play for them are at the basket with very little face up jump shots. In turn this style doesn't seem to severaly limit the looks Cryer, Sharp and Uzan get

Given his progression he is likely sought after and doesn’t mind being wined and dined which is likely a much different experience than his first portal go around.

I think his asking price right now is too high for Syracuse to pay. If that price comes down, then I expect him to be at Syracuse next year unless an SEC school is willing to pay $1.5 - $2M now to lock up his committment

With the current market, it sounds like $1.5million is on par for a starting center from the portal.

With what he brings to the table, I doubt you can find anyone cheaper. They need three more players. It will probably cost at least $3.5 million. Probably closer to $4 million ($1.5 -$2 million for each a center and a point guard).

A good pg is definitely more important than a center. Step 2 reel in a center after we get out experienced floor general.

We can afford this. We have the dough and have to spend it, apparently, because of the House settlement potentially being approved next week.
