Am I alone in saying that I actually really like where this team is at right now compared to this time last year?
We already know that the defense has been great. They didn't have an ~amazing game~ this past weekend, but going on the road down to a historically tough place to play for us, with all the buildup to the game, and a pissed-off Florida State team and we took 'em down to the wire.
Not to mention some *questionable* things that happened towards the end of the game, as well as in the game plan. Its done, moving on.
Easily the most excitement I've had watching this football team since 2018 and its magic, but I feel like this is really a platform for us to continue building on.
We continue to improve on the offensive side of the ball? I think that the sky is the limit for this offense, especially as Sterlin becomes more comfortable calling a game for Garrett. I forget who said it on the board this weekend and I don't really feel like diving back in to find the post, but someone said that it took him 6 games to figure out the game plan that works for Garrett. Great! But it's been figured out. Now we roll with it, let him play to his strengths, let him roll, let him throw to the numbers, and be great!
I think you saw a team becoming more of a team on Saturday. I saw heart and grit that was nonexistent and frankly unthinkable come week 5 of last season. I think the guys know the opportunity is there. We came up fractions short this weekend, now its time to get after Wake's ass.
Just my two cents.
Also, go Sox tomorrow for those of my fellow board members who are Red Sox (or Yankees) fans.
