Moore was a big time recruit, right? 247 had him as a 4-star, 10th best SG in his class, and 59th overall.

He had a bumpy start over his first 4 games. But then starting with Texas Tech he seemed to lock in. From that game through Maryland, 7 games, he hit 34 of 67 FGA (51%), 13-32 from three (41%), scored 12.4 PPG and averaged 26 minutes/game.

Then there's a week off between Maryland and Bucknell. From that game until yesterday (15 games) he's averaged 12 mins/game, shot 13-50 FGA (26%), 9-34 from three (27%) and 2.4 PPG.

And it's not like his minutes were gradually trimmed due to poor play. He went from 36 mins vs. G'town and 22 vs. Maryland, to 16 vs. Bucknell, 6 vs. FSU and 3 vs. Wake Forest. He turned from a heavy minute guy to a non-entity in 3 games.

What gives? Why was his playing time reduced so severely and so quickly? Defense? A bad attitude?

It's really perplexing. And all we get from Autry is "coach's decision".

Pretty sure he became a starter during the down turn time too.

I’m not seeing the same guy as you. He needs to improve his ball handling dramatically to compete at this level. He is also poor on defense …but so is everyone on this team. Right now he is a one trick pony similar to Bell except for the fact that both of them forgot how to perform that trick too. Would love for him to stay and develop because he certainly has potential but in today’s world that is unlikely.

Explain the season to me not just Moore. Everything is a dumpster fire

I didn't say what I see in him. All I posted were his stats.

So you're saying he lost minutes because of his ball handling and defense?

Hopefully he is back, but it might take money from Melo to get him to return.

Moore has energy, but he can’t get anywhere with the dribble and he is horrible on defense. Maybe even worse than Bell, if that’s even possible. He’s going to have to compete against Anthony next year. Let’s see if he wants the challenge or will he go the easy way to the portal.

I give autry the benefit of the doubt here after seeing that idiotic end of game "steal" against Clemson. Good teammates who do what coaches want don't do crap like that.

For sure. And the fact that his shot went south. Isn't that reason enough?

My God. What has the world become where we have to worry if we have enough money to keep Elijah Moore?
It's like the real estate market when you know there are probably like 10 other bidders on the same house. One wins and ten lose. But does that one really win?

Can't play defense at all
Can't create on his own
Average ball handler
Poor understanding of basic concepts
Other than that he is all upside

Agree, I like Moore and hope he stays but he does not seem to be like Tyus Battale, Elijah, Dion Waiters or the other great 2/3’s we have had. He has a nice looking jump shot.

Destroyed a bidet at Notre Dame?

Do you believe there are teams drooling over him and ready to offer him a bigger bag? He's been exposed this year. This is isn't high school. Maybe one of his former suitors will chalk this up to a dysfunctional Syracuse program and re-recruit him on potential. Or, he transfers to a mid-major where his playing prospects are better.
