Both PSU and Syracuse offered him a preferred walk-on spot, so he chose PSU because his entire family (and the state of PA) are huge fans and it was closer to home.

He blossomed into something that I don't believe ANYONE thought he would.

Not going to fault the staff for fock's sake. Recruiting undeveloped kids is an inexact science.

Wow, props to Carl. He's a trailblazer. The NFL strikes me as the sport that would be the hardest to be the first to come out in. Would love to see some high-profile names like JJ Watt, etc. rally around him and show support.

Being first has to be so scary.

It's funny how easy he'll be able to monetize this if he chooses. That's how you know the world has completely changed: an athlete can make more money by coming out.
