Class of 2020 Carter Parlette (FL) Mid Flipped to Notre Dame

UNC's classes always seem to be overrated. Every year they get all of this attention (2.25 average), but they always barely make the tournament. Even the year they won it all was a 6 loss season that put them on the bubble. But maybe this means that two years down the road they will have an excellent season since these recent great classes will be juniors and seniors. I'm sure Virginia is a similar story. Every year they get all this praise yet they never even make the tourney (until last year). This also confirms what I was saying earlier about how Denver always seems to have the same or less names than us yet they out perform us each year. That could have something to do IL having less knowledge of the elite skilled players in Colorado and the West Coast, both big sources for Denver, but Tierney is also an incredible coach. Thanks for running the numbers!

Cost?

Assuming these kids are all "out of state", the cost is pretty close. All the iveys, Michigan, UVA (two top public schools), Penn State, UNC, Duke, and SU are all in the same ballpark. Same with Villanova, etc. They are all in the $50K+ range a year.

Is cost if is an issue, one might look at Ohio State, Rutgers, and Utah.

Tons of activity last week with the 2020s. Number of commits reported from around the country. Still lots of time to fill that class, but coaches should expand their reach. Home states of next three SU recruiting classes (2018, 2019, 2020);

NY 6, 3, 2
NJ 4, 2, 1
ON 2, 0, 0
MD 1, 0, 1
OH 1, 0, 0
FL 1, 1, 1
NC 0, 3, 0
IL 0, 1, 0
VA 0, 1, 0
MA 0, 2, 0
CA 0, 0, 1
OR 0, 0, 1

Who was the one that said ND was struggling to fill their '20 class and trying flip top guys? Seems like that is true in this case. Man, the lax programs at cuse, mens and womens, have taken some real hits lately with decommits. Add to that missing out on Austin S., and its certainly been a rough few months.

I know a lot of factors are involved but to lose Parlette and Maher to ACC rivals is a really bad look.

Academics, tuition instate and out, weather and lifestyle all factor. Natural to use lax to upgrade to the best overall situation wherever possible after weighing all. Actually surprised that we have some players given their known options

Forbes 2018 college rankings. Leaving out Ivies who dominate top ten.

ACC: Duke #10, ND #21, JHU #25, UVA #34, UNC #47, Syracuse #165

Local and/or on schedule : Cornell #13 ... Army #27 .. Navy #31 ... Colgate #45...Rutgers #136 ... Hobart #173,...Albany #296

Have to agree on this one / hate to say it as a Cuse grad, but almost all of the flips are to better ranked schools - academically speaking. And hard to argue with the geographic upside as well for many of the programs
