@Coach_Shafer says they are filling the roster more and more with very competitive guys that hate to lose & self-motivate. #CMUvsCUSE

Shafer: "I think Central Michigan's a much better team than when we played them this time last year."

Shafer says C Rob Trudo and TE Josh Parris will be game-time decisions. C Jason Emerich has done well filling in for Trudo at practice.

Ugh, sounds like both are going to be out. Interesing to see if someone can emerge at TE alongside Mooe.

Seemed like Matt was more interested in getting Shaf to talk about LSU than CMU.
I hope the coaches and players aren't looking past CMU, because this could be a classic trap game. CMU's front 7 on D is stout and I think we'll struggle to run the ball (especially if Trudo is out). Wake passed for nearly 400 yds against us, and IMO the CMU QB (Cooper Rush) is just as good if not better than Wolford. I'm not feeling as confident about this game as some posters seem to be.

I love the "it's not for anyone but us" mantra. This team seems very focused on the right things.

I hope they don't eventually have to change it and remove the word "first"

Just as long as they don't hade me one on the way in, and they still have leftovers to hand out after the game.

That's about as well articulated a position as a coach can take, but I still disagree with coach on this. If a player graduates with eligibility remaining he absolutely should have the right to be a collegiate "free agent."

(((It was part of a rather impassioned answer from Shafer about the cohesiveness of the coaching staff — and Lester's willingness to embrace ideas from the room.

"When he was at Elmhurst, he didn't have some of the athletes on the outside that we can get here, and he was extremely excited to lean on the other coaches and go explore other people that know football well and do some of those higher-level things in the passing game," Shafer said.

"We're lucky to have a bunch of good coaches that have something to add to it, but it takes a man to be able to say my way is not always the best way.")))

These three sentences say an awful lot, an awful lot.
