CFB Rankings for Nov 1

Bama ahead of TCU is a neat way to screw them if TCU goes undefeated and SEC teams beat each other.

Surprised we’re ahead of WF but understanding CFB decisions is tough since their logic changes each week.

Guess you could compare our second losses and say we beat Louisville, they got destroyed. And we were down a QB for our second loss. Clemson is a wash but we lost on road. Kind of a slight edge to us. Makes sense logically.

Dude, nailed it.

Looking at these rankings I am surprised by the number of two loss teams. Makes me think we have a good shot to keep moving up. And fun fact, We are one spot lower than we were in 2018 in the first rankings.

All would be accurate except the QB part. Definitely not a factor in CFB rankings. You are who you are when you line up and through the game as I explained in another thread.

I hate this whole concept.

The "if the season ended today" thing.

Because the season never ends today. It ends when it ends.

I don't care about the unbalanced schedule argument.

Send the winners of conference championship games to the playoffs. That's it.

The SEC can CFP rank my balls if they don't like it.

I don’t mind that there’s kind a universal ranking now with more thought put into it than some of the polls. BUT…

The mindless haggling by the talking heads and schools about who is 1 thru 4 when 1 thru 4 will be playing each other is just so dumb.

But I guess those radio shows aren’t just going to fill themselves.

So with that said, I’ll close with Top 20 b!tches.

Yeah. Conference championship games should be the defacto first round. I want to see matchups we didn't see during the season, not rematches.

All of a sudden I don’t feel so bad about the last 2 weeks. A win over Pitt would make me feel even better!
A win over Pitt on the road would be huge for us and would put things right back on track. Win out from there (with one more loss from UNC) and we’re right back on track for the Orange Bowl.

WF getting spanked by Louisville gave us new life, as did this top 20 ranking. UNC still has Wake and NCS left.

Don’t lose consecutive games again this season and we’ll finish top 20 at a minimum

I’m so confused. National talking heads are losing their minds this morning that Clemson is #4 over Michigan. Clemson has THREE wins over Top 25 teams, and Michigan’s strength of schedule is 3 spots higher than Lemoyne. (I looked it up).

Is it as simple as Clemson hasn’t looked like “Clemson” and Michigan passes more of the “eye test?” I’m just confused as to why the experts can’t objectively see Clemson should be higher based on current resume.

I guess the whole thing will work itself out.

Clemson could kick Michigan's ass in a tunnel fight.

I think it's the eye test too. I was surprised when I saw it. I don't think it's clear cut. Clemson has more top 25 wins but Michigan's one top 25 win was a blowout over a team ranked higher than any of Clemson's. It'll ultimately work itself out. Michigan/OSU will be an elimination game.

I see why Clemson is ahead of Michigan but from what I've seen Michigan is better this year.
